Charisma Training
Charisma is your ability to charm and convince others. It affects your success to persuade in dialogue and prices when you barter. Raise your Charisma if you wish to complete speech challenges—conversations in yellow (Easy), orange (Medium), or red (Hard)—during discussions with others. Better bartering prices also mean Caps you receive from your scavenging and trading goes farther.
Enhance your natural charm! Spend a Perk Point and instantly gain 1 point of Charisma to a maximum of 10.
There are no requirements for the training in this attribute.
Level 01: Cap Collector
You’ve mastered the art of the deal! This perk enhances your workshop settlements with better bartering power. It allows you to create the following:
- Trading Emporium (Rank 2, with Local Leader perk Rank 2)
- Armor Emporium (Rank 2, with Local Leader perk Rank 2)
- Weapons Emporium (Rank 2, with Local Leader perk Rank 2)
- Restaurant (Rank 2, with Local Leader perk Rank 2)a
- Clothing Emporium (Rank 2, with Local Leader perk, Rank 2)
Choose this if trading is your favored way to accrue wealth, and you have a bustling community of traders (including those you’ve attracted to any settlements you own).

Level 02: Black Widow / Lady Killer
“Come into my parlor,” said the Black Widow. You’re charming . . . and dangerous to those of the opposite sex. Though the gender of the Commonwealth’s population is about evenly split, this perk won’t affect those sporting a similar undercarriage to you. Don’t forget the Intimidation perk; both of these perks in unison allows almost any situation to be handled your way, without (or with) violence.

Who needs friends anyway? If you prefer a solo exploration, you can add value that would normally require Endurance and Strength bonuses at lower ranks. The relatively low CHR requirement means the first rank of this is an extremely attractive proposition.

Level 05: Animal Friend
Commune with beasts! But only if you’re successful and aim your gun at the animal in question; you may wish to check the level of your target first in V.A.T.S. with the Awareness perk. The higher ranks allow you to use more interesting commands, allowing you to chance upon, say, a Yao Guai lair and bringing the beast with you into a nearby Raider camp. At Rank 3, the beast acts a little like a dumber pet, with more control over where you can send it, usually into areas to cause a distraction. Animals are beasts that were naturally occurring before the bombs dropped.

- (*** Requires Armorer, Rank 1)
As the ruler everyone turns to, this is a critically important perk to unlock as you work on improving the settlements you are running. Both ranks of this perk enhance your settlements, but Rank 2 is most dramatic. Consult the Workshop chapter for the specific benefits.

Simply look up the effects of your favorite wine, beer, vodka, or other alcoholic beverages, and employ them when you need to without the unpleasant side effects afterward. As Luck influences how quickly your critical hits recharge, fighting while drunk at Rank 3 now becomes even more beneficial, rather than an embarrassing kerfuffle.

Level 08: Inspirational
Because you lead by example, your companions gain benefits from your methods of exploration. If you’re concentrating on keeping a follower with you for the foreseeable future, it’s well worth augmenting them as much as possible, though this always comes at the expense of spending points purely on yourself. But that’s selfish.

The higher ranks allow you to seek more interesting commands, giving you the opportunity to, say, encounter a Feral Ghoul Glowing One and bring it with you into a nearby Gunner camp. At Rank 3, the creature acts a little like a dumber pet, with more control over where you can send it, usually into areas to cause a distraction.

In the same way that Wasteland Whisperer and Animal Friend gave you the ability to control certain wild animals and critters, this ability is now available to any human you meet! Now you can turn Raiders on one another, make them enter areas they’d rather avoid falling into, and order them around like a subjugated follower, usually as a form of distraction to gain the upper hand on other enemies.
