Preparing for the Worst

This quest becomes available after you complete Far Harbor Quest: Hull Breach 2 and allow the Mariner’s work crew enough time to salvage materials from the MS Azalea. The Hull is now strong enough to withstand virtually any conventional attack, but it’s still vulnerable to corrosion (like the acid attacks from the Mirelurk queen). The Mariner thinks incorporating the shells of slain Mirelurks would eliminate this flaw, and she’s counting on you to procure the necessary materials.

You can find Mirelurks scattered across the Island, but the Mariner recommends that you investigate Haddock Cove. Travel to the suggested hunting ground and search the area for suitable targets. Kill and loot any Mirelurks you find until you’ve collected at least three Mirelurk Carapaces, then return to Far Harbor. If you are looking to collect more capsyou can loot the mirelurk carpaces for an extra source of caps. Deliver the carapaces to the Mariner to receive some caps (about 615) and a unique Harpoon Gun.
