Horrors at the Witchcraft Museum
Visit the Witchcraft Museum, which has two firmly sealed front doors. In the side yard, you find a Holotape on a mutilated body.
Private Hart’s Holotape
Aha! There is a way inside! Access the side hatch and climb into the Museum of Witchcraft basement. As you proceed, there are some strange and frightening sounds. Keep your composure and follow the debris trail upstairs. Face the horror you heard earlier. Assuming you aren’t torn to shreds, locate and gather the Holotape from Sergeant Lee. Listen to it. Pick up the Deathclaw Egg from the same location.

These Gunners were delivering a case of Deathclaw Eggs from their nest in Lynn Woods to Diamond City. You’ve got a decision to make—complete the delivery (Plan A) or return the egg to its nest (Plan B).
Plan A: A Recipe for Success
Head to Diamond City Market, and locate the Colonial Taphouse.
Speak to Wellingham, who looks down his nose at you when he speaks (if he had a nose) and mention the egg.
You are given some Caps and a special recipe from Wellingham (which you can make yourself). The quest concludes. Why not return here later to see if Wellingham has made this recipe too?

Plan B: Eggs Placed in a Nest
Head to Lynn Woods in the northern Commonwealth, and locate the nearby Deathclaw Nest. Place the egg there, and be extremely careful of the beasts that hatched it. Pick up the egg again afterward if you decide to complete Plan A. Amazingly, you usually aren’t attacked if you return an intact egg. You can only pick up the Deathclaw Gauntlet if you visit this nest before completing the quest.
