A Quick Fix
This quest becomes available after you’ve completed Main Quest: Walk in the Park and/or Far Harbor Quest: Rite of Passage. To begin the quest, speak to Captain Avery and ask about available work. As luck would have it, some of the town’s fog condensers have been damaged. Although a Far Harbor resident has already been sent out to repair the malfunctioning equipment, he’s yet to return. Captain Avery would like you to track down her missing citizen and—if necessary—complete the repairs in his place.
Leave Far Harbor and head toward the marked location to the southwest. Just as Avery feared, Howard Dunbar was killed by some Mirelurks just outside of the town. Deal with the hostile creatures, and then recover the Fog Condenser Components from poor Howard’s corpse.
Fog Condenser Component
Once you’ve collected the components, use them to repair the marked fog condensers to the south. Once all three condensers are functioning, return to Far Harbor and report your success to Captain Avery. Although she’d hoped for better news about Howard Dunbar, Avery is grateful that you’ve secured the route to the town’s water supply. You can take the offered reward of 200 caps or attempt to negotiate a higher rate for your services.
