Fallout 4 eGuide DLC Wasteland Workshop Arena

Arena Construction

When left to their own devices, arena contestants can drag a battle through an entire settlement. This not only makes it difficult for spectators to watch the fight, it increases the risk of accidental damage to essential items like generators, water pumps, and crops. In order to control your arena battles, you must place your designated combat area within some sort of enclosure.

Cement-style railings are particularly good for keeping battles contained without compromising the audience’s view, while solid walls are best for keeping arena contestants from attacking any tamed creatures that might be patrolling your settlement. Otherwise, any arrangement of items that prevents contestants from leaving the area can make a serviceable arena.

If you have the space and resources to construct a more substantial arena, consider using foundation-style floor pieces to establish a nice, level combat area. A proper foundation not only serves as an anchor point for walls and railings, it also makes it much easier to incorporate items like floor traps and large cages.

Of course, you’ll need some way to move contestants in and out of a designated combat area. You can simply use the Workshop menu to rearrange barriers between fights, but installing powered doors is a much more convenient option. You can even build color-coded holding pens to keep opposing teams away from each other until you’re ready for the battle to begin.

It’s usually best to install switches between arena devices and their power sources. Doing so makes it much easier to control items like powered doors, traps, and cages during a fight.

If you want an audience for your fight, use a Quitting Time Siren to call nearby settlers to the arena. Providing seats can help ensure that your intended spectators have the best possible view of the action. When the show is over, switch off the siren to send your settlers back to work.
