Fallout 4 eGuide STAT Combat

Overview

Humanoid Stats

Most humanoid targets can utilize a wide variety of armor and weapons. This means that two seemingly identical targets can have significantly different resistances or offensive capabilities. For this reason, the following categories are used for most humanoid stats:

  • NAME: The name by which your Pip-Boy identifies a given target.
  • LEVEL: A target’s level is a good indicator of its relative strength.
  • INVENTORY: Items that are sure to be carried by a target (although most defeated enemies will also drop several randomly selected items).
  • PERCEPTION: How easily a target can detect hidden threats. The higher a target’s Perception, the more difficult it is to sneak past them.
  • BASE HEALTH: A target’s unmodified health.
  • STANDARD ARMOR: The types of armor most commonly worn by a target.
  • STANDARD WEAPONS: Types of weapons most commonly carried by a target.
  • XP: The unmodified XP granted for defeating a target (specific XP rewards are determined by your Intelligence, perks, and active bonuses). Non-Humanoid Stats

Because gear isn’t a factor, non-humanoid targets tend to have much more predictable offensive and defensive capabilities. Stats for these targets are presented in the following categories:

  • NAME: The name by which your Pip-Boy identifies a given target.
  • LEVEL: A target’s level is a good indicator of its relative strength.
  • INVENTORY: Items that are sure to be carried by a target (although most defeated enemies will also drop several randomly selected items).
  • PERCEPTION: How easily a target can detect hidden threats. The higher a target’s Perception, the more difficult it is to sneak past them.
  • BASE HEALTH: A target’s unmodified health.
  • DAMAGE RESISTANCE: Resistance to ballistic/impact damage.
  • ENERGY RESISTANCE: Resistance to energy damage.
  • RADIATION RESISTANCE: Resistance to radiation damage.
  • POISON RESISTANCE: Resistance to poison.
  • DAMAGE: Damage caused by a target’s primary attack.
  • SPECIAL ATTACK: A target’s secondary or situational attack.
  • SA DAMAGE: Damage done by a target’s special attack.
  • XP: The unmodified XP granted for defeating a target (specific XP rewards are determined by your Intelligence, perks, and active bonuses). Legendary Enemies

Most enemy types have Legendary variants that can appear at random. These enemies share the same base stats as their standard counterparts, but they also boast dormant Legendary abilities.

Legendary enemies that favor ranged damage tend to be much more accurate, while those that rely on melee damage usually hit twice as hard. All Legendary enemies also have the ability to mutate after taking significant damage. Mutation replenishes an enemy’s lost health and triggers its Legendary abilities.

Legendary enemies are formidable, but they always carry a piece of Legendary gear—weapons and armor that offer special bonuses.
