Fallout 4 eGuide DLC Nuka-World

Workshop Items and Raider Outposts

During your time in Nuka-World, your main plan is to award each of the five main Theme Park zones to one of three Nuka-World Raider gangs. This requires the simple act of clearing the zone, completing the associated Quest, and then hoisting a flag. There are no settlements, outposts, or Workshops to worry about.

However, once the Main Quest: Home Sweet Home begins, you are tasked with locating settlements across the Commonwealth (the ones you may already have assigned to a faction such as the Minutemen or Brotherhood of Steel), and take them over, either as a Raider Gang Outpost, or a “feeder” or “vassal” settlement that gives tributes to a nearby Raider Outpost. Information regarding that is contained within the Quest.

Once an Outpost is given to a Raider gang, you need to keep the population of the Outpost happy, just as you did when you weren’t working the Raider gangs. Some general advice on this is contained below. In addition, once the entire Nuka-World Main Quests have been completed, and power is restored to the Park, you are able to access a Red Rocket Diner on the outskirts of Bradberton, which can act in the same way as a Commonwealth Settlement.

Raiders are lazy, base humans that don’t particularly enjoy manual labor. So make sure you try at least some of the following plans when raising their Happiness within each Outpost you’ve claimed for a particular Nuka-World Raider faction:

  • Place the usual beneficial equipment to help the Outpost survive, such as bedding, a water pump, and generators. Dig up any crops and amend areas so that Raiders are more comfortable.
  • Utilize the new Raider Items within the workshop; adorn the Outpost with faction-specific flags and drapes.
  • Add chem and booze stations, as well as gambling machines and raider-specific stores. These raiders like to party!
  • Raiders aren’t interested in farming or guarding, so stop any of them from doing these jobs. Assign defense turrets to guard your Outposts. They also aren’t happy with robots, so keep any automatons away from an Outpost.
  • Most importantly, utilize all nearby settlements as “vassal”, “slave”, or “feeder” settlements, forcing the non-Raider inhabitants of these locations to serve the Raider Outpost with food. If you can get a good collection of serfs to farm Mutfruit and continuously supply the Outpost with these tributes, you’ll be at 100% Raider happiness in no time.
