Welcome to Covenant. You’ll Never Leave!
On your travels, you might stumble across the walled community of Covenant in the northern part of the Commonwealth. Speak to the guard outside, a gruff but amenable chap named Swanson, who requests you take a SAFE test before entering. Agree.
Answer Swanson as you wish while you take the test. You’re deemed worthy and may enter.
Hey, everything’s great in here! The folks are so friendly! Well, except Honest Dan, who’s got a face like a slapped arse. He’s been hired to find Stockon’s missing caravan. That’s Old Man Stockton, who’s living in Bunker Hill. Want to help with the investigation? Start by chatting to the villagers after speaking with Dan first.
Making Lemons out of Lemonade
Either before or after interrogating the villagers, leave Covenant and locate the remains of the caravan. Check the cooler for the following:
Return to Covenant. You can question any and all villagers, in any order you like. Talia McGovern and Penny Fitzgerald provide some subtle clues. Ask everyone about their problem with synths and about some secret compound as these conversation choices become available. Talk to Deezer until he offers you some free lemonade—the same lemonade that you found at the caravan! Be sure to exhaust your conversation choices with Honest Dan and ask about synths.
Back at Covenant, find the locked building. You can:
- (Advanced) Unlock it without being seen.
Or steal the Covenant House Keys from the table near Penny, in Doctor Patricia’s office.
Search this dormitory for another set of keys and the following:
Now enter the office building (to the rear, behind the tree) and access the office terminal on the desk. You can:
The information on the terminal is most illuminating. Talk to Dan about it if you wish before setting off to find the compound. On the way out of the compound, you may be stopped by Jacob Orden. Answer how you wish, playing dumb, being rude, or taking a bribe.
Exit the compound, and head west across the lake (or around the shore) to a sewer pipe entrance.
Compound Fracture
You may have tried convincing Jacob Orden to give you the Stockton caravan survivors peacefully. Or attempted other means. He may have sent word ahead so you can make your case to them. Meet up with the compound guards, Manny and Blythe. Look for a Compound Key on either of them. Use it to unlock the subsequent door. Explore (with or without Honest Dan) until you reach the laboratory of Dr. Roslyn Chambers.
Have a frank discussion with the Doctor. You can:
- Reject her offer, optionally kill her, use her terminal to free Amelia from Cell Block 1, and speak to Honest Dan for a reward.
- Reject her offer, optionally kill her, use her terminal to free Amelia from Cell Block 1, and then travel all the way into Charleston Neighborhood, to Bunker Hill, and find Old Man Stockton for a bigger reward.
- Or accept her offer, wait for her to deal with Amelia, then end your working relationship with Honest Dan (if he’s with you). Speak to Doctor Chambers for your reward.
