On your travels through Concord, you spot a man protecting a group of people from Raider attacks on a balcony of a museum. Below the balcony is a short laser musket and some fusion cell ammunition in front of the doors. Pick it up if you’re interested in disintegrating your enemies, and clear any foes from the streets. Then enter the Museum of Freedom.
Short Laser Musket
Armed Raiders are prowling the splintered interior of this museum. Weave your way through the remains of the displays. Your targets aren’t red-coated; they have more of an “animal hide and leather studs” appearance. In between takedowns, feel free to read the freedom wall en route to a top-floor office where the defenders are.
Meet Preston Garvey and the remnants of his Minutemen forces. They seem like friendly sorts and are in a bind. Agree to help him and Sturges provide fire support to crush any remaining Raider opposition in town. Drop to the ground floor and into the basement. You can:
- (Novice) Use bobby pins to open the security gate. There are some on top of the computer terminal monitor.
- (Novice) Hack the computer terminal and unlock the security gate.
Fusion Core
Let Freedom Reign
Access the roof to find an empty suit of T-45 Power Armor. It’s not in the finest condition, but it’s working well enough to clamber into once you insert the Fusion Core into the back of the unit. Detach the Vertibird minigun if you’re craving rapid firepower. Then test the armor’s cushioning by dropping into the street. Another option? Stay up here and snipe for a bit.
Minigun
Cut down any Raiders you see. Beware of a Deathclaw clambering out of a ground hatch. It is wise to back up while using the minigun or when coaxing the Raiders into a fight with the Deathclaw and mopping up the wounded survivors. Afterward, check in with Preston for a reward. To further your friendship, agree to join the Minutemen as they repopulate your old township of Sanctuary.
