Diplomacy at Work
Thanks to your success at Mass Fusion, plans to power up the Institute reactor are moving forward but the process has stalled somewhat as a scientist named Wallace hasn’t arrived at the facility. Relay out from the Institute, and head west from Cambridge to Graygardens. Locate the homestead just west of the hydroponic garden. Depending on your previous actions, you meet one of the following factions here:
- If you have had no dealings with the Minutemen during your adventure, you will have Gunners to remove in this location before you can rescue your contact.
- If you have had dealings with the Minutemen, a number of them are waiting to attack the structure. Speak with them now. You can:
- Agree to this attack, turning the Institute hostile. You can no longer align with them. The Institute Quest: Banished from the Institute begins if any Institute forces are killed.
- Persuade the Minutemen to stand down. You can tell them it’s an order.

Inside the homestead, speak to your Institute contact Enrico Thompson. Wallace has barricaded himself behind a nearby door. Make verbal contact with this agitated fellow, and convince him to help out.
