Ghoulrillas in the Midst
As you enter this part of the park, bring your weapon to bear on a gatorclaw that is fighting a scavenger named Cito. With the beast defeated, speak to Cito (answering as you wish), and agree to friendship. He praises your prowess, and requests you help him rid the entire Safari Adventure zone of these gatorclaws. The reason for his speech pattern becomes clear when he leads you to the Primate House. Along the way, kill any gatorclaws getting in your way.
Cito was raised by ghoulrillas, and you can attempt a Speech check (Hard) to persuade Cito that one of these apes (named “Chris”) should accompany you throughout this mission. The conversation continues with Cito mentioning a nasty Wrinkly Man and shiny things, one of which is Dr. McDermot’s Holotape (you need to listen to this). It explains how the gatorclaws came to exist. After speaking with Cito about the cloning facility mentioned in the Holotape, Cito offers to accompany you as well. Both Cito and “Chris” are fair-weather companions; they won’t leave the Safari Adventure.
Replication, then Annihilation
With as many posse members in tow as you wish (your current companion, Cito, and possibly “Chris,” or no one at all depending on your preference), check your compass map and head to the Triangle House, also known as the Safari Adventure Welcome Center. Begin your search here for the cloning facility: Drop down into the foyer, slay a gatorclaw, and access the Employees Terminal near a locked door. Read the “Ransom Note” entry at the terminal, from a Doctor named Hein, who has the passcode needed for the facility. Cito (if you let him accompany you) lets you know that the Angry Anaconda is the name of the ride in this part of the park.
Exit the Welcome Center, head towards the Giant Metal Snake ride (also known as the Angry Anaconda), and look for a locked trailer (Expert). If your Lockpick skill is poor, or you’re out of bobby pins, find the key in the duffel bag on the roof of the trailer. Head inside and open the suitcase for the passcode. Now head back to the Welcome Center.
Enter the foyer, dropping down and moving to the Employee’s Terminal you accessed earlier. Choose the new option, “unlock door to Nuka-Gen Replication Facility,” and the door unlocks. Head down the interior steps, searching for the cloning machine. Make a thorough search of the corridors, dropping a gatorclaw as you go. Head through the peach-colored double-doors to the south and continue down and southeast to a waterlogged area.
Here, you’ll encounter a vicious albino gatorclaw, so come prepared for a tougher battle. Expect two additional gatorclaws. Then access the red Replication Machine, and shut down the cloning process. Grab a Holotape on the console, if you wish. At this point, fight off a couple more gatorclaws, then begin a hunt throughout the entire park until all remaining gatorclaws (a total of 21) have been slain. Fortunately, your map compass lets you know where the gatorclaw stragglers are, assuming you have the objective selected.
No More Monsters: No More Cito?
With the last of the 21 gatorclaws defeated, return to Cito (either as part of your companion crew, or back in the Primate House), and figure out what’s best for him and his ghoulrillas. You can:
- Tell him to leave Safari Adventure. He reluctantly agrees, gives you his gift, and the park becomes free to assign to a gang.
- Speech/Charisma (Medium): Ask him to share the park with your friends. He’s happy to share, gives you his gift, and the park becomes free to assign to a gang. If you return later in your adventuring and ask how he’s getting along with the Raiders you’ve assigned, he’s enthusiastic if you assigned The Pack gang to this area.
- Instruct him to eat a bullet, then slay him and any of his ape chums in a bath of bloodletting. The park then becomes free to assign to a gang.
If Cito is allowed to stay, he gifts you with Cito’s Shiny Slugger: a melee weapon with some nasty sharp implements hammered into it, with a damage rate that’s simply amazing! With Cito placated, you can hoist the flag of the gang faction you favor (on the roof of the Welcome Center). This quest then concludes.
