Locations to Explore

Buried Secrets

This quest begins when you enter the Vim! Pop Factory during Main Quest: Best Left Forgotten. This location is overrun with super mutants, so expect heavy resistance upon your arrival. Fight your way through the factory until you reach the marked terminal near the production area’s southeast corner. Hack the terminal (Novice) and use it to open the nearby security door.

Take the revealed elevator down to the basement to discover DiMA’s secret medical facility, then dig up the marked patch of earth to discover some troubling evidence of DiMA’s forgotten plan.

What’s Done is Done

A Precarious Position

You’ve recovered incontrovertible evidence of DiMA’s crimes—evidence that puts the very existence of Acadia at risk. You’re free to report your progress to Kasumi, but sharing what you’ve learned with other interested parties can have serious (and irreversible) consequences. Consider completing available Acadia and Far Harbor quests before you make the results of your investigation public.

Confronting DiMA

DiMA may have forgotten his crimes, but there’s no denying the evidence you’ve uncovered. Hoping to maintain Acadia’s safety, DiMA urges you to keep this new information to yourself. Still, he acknowledges that the final decision is yours to make. You can:

  • Tell DiMA you’ll keep his secret, and then agree to help him deal with High Confessor Tektus. Doing so ends the quest and begins Main Quest: Reformation.
  • Refuse to help DiMA, then leave explore your other options.
  • Convince DiMA to turn himself in (Hard). If you succeed, DiMA agrees to travel to Far Harbor and confess his crimes in the hopes that Acadia will be spared.

If you end the quest by agreeing to help DiMA deal with High Confessor Tektus, he rewards you with some caps and a unique armor piece. You also receive a key required to complete Main Quest: Reformation.

Informing Far Harbor

DiMA has managed to maintain peaceful relations with the people of Far Harbor, but that’s sure to change if his crimes are brought to light. If you decide that Far Harbor deserves to know the truth, you can:

  • Bring the evidence to Captain Avery. She finds it difficult to accept the truth, but the right tact (Medium) or a bit of persistence eventually convinces her. When she asks you to keep this information secret, you can agree, refuse, or promise your silence in exchange for some caps (Hard).
  • Bring the evidence to Alan Lee. Alan is inclined to believe you, but he asks you to take the evidence to Teddy Wright. After running a few tests, Teddy urges you to keep the results to yourself. You can follow the doctor’s advice and explore other options, or you can return the evidence to Alan Lee and allow him to take control of the situation.

If you choose to provide Alan Lee with proof of DiMA’s crimes, he rallies the people of Far Harbor against DiMA, Acadia, and Captain Avery. You can attempt to calm Alan down a bit (Hard), but you’ll need the support of the crowd if you hope to rescue Captain Avery from her fate. Either way, the people of Far Harbor will set out to storm Acadia.

Storming Acadia

If you inform Far Harbor of DiMA’s crimes—or fail to calm the mob after DiMA confesses—Alan Lee incites the people of Far Harbor to destroy Acadia. If this happens, follow the mob to Acadia and help (or watch) until each and every synth has been killed. After the battle, speak to Alan Lee to receive some caps, a unique Lever Action Rifle, and the Destroyer of Acadia perk.
