Fallout 4 eGuide DLC Contraptions Workshop Structures

Scaffolding

This new subcategory can be used to build customized scaffolding rigs. Cosmetically, scaffolds are great for grounding otherwise improbable structures, but these versatile objects can also be used to place steps, ramps, and anchor points near otherwise inaccessible areas.

New or Expanded Subcategories:

Structures > Scaffolding > Prefabs

This new subcategory contains two prefabricated scaffolding towers, both of which feature a full complement of railings. This makes them somewhat difficult to incorporate into existing structures, but these prefab structures can be used to hold objects like conduits, lights, and mortars that might benefit from a bit of extra height.

Scaffolding Prefabs

Name Build With Prerequisites Notes
Scaffolding Tower Wood (8), Steel (20) [dm] A large scaffolding tower.
Scaffolding Tower Wood (8), Steel (20) [dm] A small scaffolding tower.

Structures > Scaffolding > Floors

Although scaffolding floors are designed to fit atop scaffolding frames, they snap to each other and[dm]in most cases[dm]to standard floor pieces. However, these specialized floor panels are a bit thinner than typical floor panels, and a direct connection results in a noticeable gap intended to accommodate scaffolding frames.

Cosmetically, these floor panels look similar to some of the pieces found in Structures > Wood > Floors, but you’ll find the notable addition of rectangular half-panels ideal for narrow walkways.

Scaffolding Floors

Scaffolding Floor Wood (5), Steel (2) [dm] A small square floor piece.
Scaffolding Floor Wood (5), Steel (2) [dm] A small square floor piece.

Scaffolding Floor Wood (5), Steel (2) [dm] A small rectangular floor piece.
Scaffolding Floor Wood (5), Steel (2) [dm] A square floor piece.

Structures > Scaffolding > Framework

While structures are generally built from the ground up, this isn’t always the case with scaffolding. Scaffolding frames come in different shapes, sizes, and heights, but all of these objects are capable of sinking into the ground. Combine this with the fact that scaffolding frames can snap together both vertically and horizontally, and it becomes fairly easy to match a scaffolding rig to the dimensions of any existing structure.

Scaffolding Frames

Scaffolding Frame Steel (6) [dm] A large scaffolding frame (tall).
Scaffolding Frame Steel (6) [dm] A large scaffolding frame (tall).

Structures > Scaffolding > Stairs

This subcategory contains stairs and ramps that are specifically designed for use in scaffolding. Ramps provide a gentler slope, while scaffolding stairs offer a tighter, more efficient climb.

These objects snap to the tops of scaffolding frames, and to each other, but they can also sink a considerable distance into the ground. With careful placement, you can use scaffolding ramps or stairs to provide easy access to and from virtually any raised area.

Structures > Scaffolding > Miscellaneous

This subcategory contains two objects: a long railing suitable for standard floor pieces, and a short railing that runs about half the length. These items are ideal for scaffolding structures, but they’re compatible with any appropriately sized floor panels.
