Variations: Toughened enemies, different enemies
Cross the bridge, head up into the platform chamber with the broken LED wall, and engage the cluster of Acolytes in quick and violent combat. Squeeze through the gap into the large open lobby, and head left (north) toward the additional Hive foes. The initial hostiles include a few Acolytes and a Wizard. Destroy them, and avoid the Hive traps (the glowing anchor-like devices on the ground), which can damage and immobilize you. While Ghost hacks the door, spin around and repel a group of charging Thralls led by a Wizard. Execute the closer enemies first. Next, expect Acolytes and Cursed Thralls to drop in; remove the explosive Cursed Thralls as a matter of urgency. Use a grenade to soften up one of the two Knights that also appear, but save them for last.
Sub-Boss: When the door opens, you may want to punt or lob in a grenade to remove the cluster of Thralls before they charge and separate. Instead, just back up and remove them first. The reason is simple: when you step to the second inner door, there are an Ogre, Knights, and Acolytes in the green chamber beyond. Back up so there’s room to find cover, or the Ogre’s facial maw beam can cut you down in seconds. Step to the side of the door opening, have all three of you focus on the Ogre first, and then mop up the Knights and Acolyte stragglers. A Super used on the Ogre is not a wasted opportunity. Then, head farther down the corridors into the Arboretum itself.
