Description
- Red Legion Psions are meddling with forces best left alone. Investigate their connection to dark forces in the region.
When the Adventure starts, you’re tasked with defeating three Psionically-Enhanced Centurions. Each of these enemies is accompanied by Bonded Psions, specialized Cabal units that render Psionically-Enhanced Centurions immune to damage.
Before you engage an enhanced Centurion, eliminate the Bonded Psions protecting it. Note that even without its escort, a Psionically-Enhanced Centurion is a legitimate threat. Use Solar damage to tear through its shield, then finish it off in whatever way you see fit.
The Sludge has a significant Cabal presence, but few of these enemies are related to this Adventure. Use the objective markers to locate and identify the priority targets scattered throughout the area.
After you defeat all three Psionically-Enhanced Centurions, follow the objective marker to find an active portal just inside of The Dark Forest. When you’re ready, step through the portal to continue the Adventure.
In the next area, you’ll find two Psionically-Enhanced Centurions protected by Corrupted Bonded Psions. These altered Psions boast more armor than those you faced in The Sludge, but they serve the same purpose. Eliminate the Psions, and take down the Centurions. Keep an eye out for the Taken Blights that appear in the area.
Once you’ve cleared the area, step through the next portal to press deeper into the region. The second portal leads to a larger clearing filled with far more enemies. As you make your way through the zone, eliminate all of the Legionaries you encounter. Try to limit your attacks to basic weapons, as any Abilities or Power Ammo at your disposal can be put to better use down the line.
Once you’ve dealt with the Legionaries, it’s time to face the Psionically-Enhanced Centurion at the end of the path. Like the Centurions you’ve already faced, this powerful enemy uses Bonded Psions to generate an impenetrable damage shield. Again, you must take out all nearby Psions before you can deal any damage to your primary target. The Centurion’ Cabal Slug Launcher is a devastating weapon, so make good use of available cover. Stick close to rocks and trees as you pick off each of the Bonded Psions.
The moment the last Bonded Psion falls, hit the Centurion with everything you’ve got. Be quick: it won’t be long before fresh Psions arrive to reestablish the Centurion’ damage shield. A high-impact Power Weapon is likely your best option. Aim for the head, and keep attacking until the Centurion’ white shield reappears. As soon as this happens, head back to cover and locate the newly arrived Psions.
Once you successfully deal damage to the Psionically-Enhanced Centurion, defeating it is simply a matter of repeating the process: eliminate all Psions,
and then do as much damage as possible before the next wave arrives. You can speed things up with a well-timed Super Ability, but remember that surviving is your priority. Retreat as often as needed to stay healthy, and use cover to lure Psions away from the Centurion. Keep fighting until you defeat the Centurion and complete the Adventure.
