Destiny 2 Guide › Director › The Tower

The Tower Overview

Sector Notes:

Landing Zone: Available

Scannable Objects: 22

Vendor: Up to 10 initially

Welcome to the resistance! This social Sector has no enemies to concern yourself with. It becomes accessible once the Campaign Missions have concluded. Think of this as a hub of activity where you can meet fellow Guardians and clan-mates, store items in your vault, locate a wealth of scannable objects, and most importantly, trade with vendors. This is where you’ll begin the end-game content: trading unwanted items for weapons and armor sets, receiving rare or exotic gear from engrams, and purchasing items from the Eververse merchant. You can continue to present Tokens to certain traders and gain Reputation with Vanguard members and others. Welcome to the rest of your game.

Down (and out) on The Farm

Now that the Campaign has concluded and the Tower becomes the active hub, the usefulness of the Farm winds down, though Tyra should be visited for some additional loot.

That Glowing Feeling

The perspective changes during the time in this social Sector. You are in third-person view and cannot execute your Movement Mode.

If you want to ensure a hot reception for your Guardian, why not pick up the object atop the courtyard gantryway near the purple ball that expressly tells you not to? You’re in for a lava-ly time! Why not “fan” yourself to cool down?

You can play soccer games in the main hangar floor.

There are various controls to play with, such as light switches on the Bazaar stairwell, and hangar gantries to move.

There’s also some hidden treasure, such as those requiring a Loot-a-Palooza Key (Hangar) and Dance Party Key (Bazaar).

Areas of Interest

Courtyard

This upper deck is the central part of the Tower wall, with two “wings” to the east (a large covered ship hangar) and the west (a stairwell leading to the Bazaar). Some key vendors are located here, along with your vault, and a small staircase behind Banshee’s shop leads to the maintenance chasms between the Tower hangar and other areas. Zavala is here, surveying the recent destruction.

Bazaar

A relatively small stairwell area links the Bazaar to the courtyard. A connecting corridor to the north leads to the dangerous maintenance chasm between structures. Head there if you’re keen on finding all scannable objects.

There’s a festive atmosphere over in the western side of the Tower, with a plaza and a covered Bazaar area, as well as a small central staircase structure. There are vendors here, including Ikora.

Hangar (East)

The eastern side of this Sector, connected by a staircase, is a giant maintenance bay and hangar, where Cayde and Holliday like to hang out. Though there aren’t scannable objects in this area, there’s still plenty to do, including a game of soccer on the main hangar floor.

Landing Zones

Courtyard LZ

Fly in from Orbit and land your craft on the edge of the upper exterior courtyard area.

Scannable Objects (Courtyard)

On a high exterior AC duct in the chasm between the courtyard and hangar; hop over the railing from the mesh bridge while facing the hangar roof.
What’s under the Landing Zone netting on a tiny lip ledge below the air traffic droid? This item.
Time to climb some girders and pipes to get to this collection of hoarded debris. On the side of the courtyard structure, between it and the Bazaar. Don’t miss a landing!
Careful jumping and a possible death plummet afterward? You must be finding this lore item, which is on the low yellow girders in the chasm between the courtyard and hangar.
The covered maintenance walkway under the courtyard has a prime item to scan, near those yellow railings.
Something’s worth scanning in the small storage stairwell under Banshee’s store.

Scannable Objects (Bazaar)

Time for some maintenance chasm extreme jumping to get to this collection of crates beyond the AC silver piping, on the outer girder.
Once you find the kitty at the window, the object becomes clear to see.
A blue crate of electronics. Cunningly hidden behind that pillar.
Some light reading. But you’ll need to crouch under a gate to get to it.
This market stall has a box that’s of particular interest.
Sitting on the curved corner of the AC duct, above the red shade cloth and north alley. Time to attempt some lengthy and cunning moves to get it!
Are you reading these notes by candlelight? My, that’s a tiny balcony.
More light reading, near the comfy patio seating on the mezzanine.
A hidden tome on a stack of containers, with a great view and a narrow ledge lip.

Scannable Objects (Hangar)

These are the droids you’re looking for.
Time to monitor the situation in the northwest yellow metal stairwell corner gantry.
Is that something sitting atop the cradle holding those two blue missiles?
Even the pipework in the hangar holds secrets to scan. These are close to an upper gantry stairwell and red girder column.
Hang out on the sturdy hydraulic pillar above the yellow gantry. Eastern side, as you watch the ships land.
Check the red metal landing dock gantry. Southeast and up.
Check the rarely used gantry outside the hangar, southwest corner near the moored ship. You’ll be glad you did; there’s some light reading on a crate stack.

Vendors

Darbi 55-30 (Postmaster)

Visit Darbi to gather items and objects of importance that you found (from dead enemies or chests) during missions or other explorations but didn’t pick up. Messages from other players are also accessed here.

Tess Everis (Eververse Promotions)

Tess Everis is an accomplished broker of stylish and highly coveted items procured from the City and beyond. She grants you special free promotions (engram gifts and gear, for example) and also sells these items, provided you have enough Silver (which is currency you appropriate through the expenditure of real-world rather than in-game funds). Real-world purchases are purely optional.

Master Rahool (Archivist)

A senior representative of the Cryptarchy, Master Rahool decodes engrams and seeks the treasures of humanity’s past. He also sells engrams from time to time and may be interested in Artifacts you have picked up, exchanging them for Glimmer.

Banshee-44 (Gunsmith)

Banshee-44 has lived many lives. As master weaponsmith for the Tower, he supplies Guardians with only the best. Show him proof of your enthusiasm for destruction by offering him Tokens you have acquired from breaking down weapons and armor. Trade them in, bringing him groups of ten, five, or one. In return, you receive an increased Reputation (which gradually gets you better items). He rewards you with items from his arsenal. You can also purchase gear mods from him, as well as gear for sale. Those wanting to continuously improve their Guardians will be visiting him countless times.

Lord Shaxx

The Crucible is the arena in which Guardians forge their light. Lord Shaxx is the Crucible. Complete matches and challenges within the Crucible to obtain Tokens. He takes any Tokens you have acquired; trade them in, bringing him groups of 10, five, or one. In return, you receive an increased Reputation (or “standing”) with him. Special Crucible Armor and Crucible Arsenal (Gear Sets) are accessed from him.

Commander Zavala

The resolute Commander Zavala advises and outfits Titans as their Vanguard at the Tower. Purchase the Vanguard Tactician Arsenal once you return Tokens to gain Reputation with him.

Ikora Rey

The wise Ikora Rey advises and outfits Warlocks as their Vanguard at the Tower. Though she sells gear, she allows you to meditate on the Campaign Missions you have previously played. When available, you can replay any Campaign Mission to acquire Tokens and Reputation with her (to gain her gear). You can play Campaign Missions as a single Guardian or as part of a fireteam.

Suraya Hawthorne

Once a wanderer beyond the City, Suraya Hawthorne now acts as a liaison between humanity and the Guardians. She has items to sell and has a commanding view from a mezzanine balcony in the Bazaar area.

Cayde-6

Languishing near the entrance to the main maintenance hangar is the freewheeling Exo with both Scout Reports and Treasure Maps to impart to you (as well as some “Odds and Ends” you might want to check into). Part with some Glimmer, and you’re able to purchase these references. For Scout Reports, these reveal Loot Caches that are active in a particular region. For Treasure Maps, you go on some minor end-game treasure hunts. The locations of treasure then appear on your in-game map of the associated region. Bring back the “treasure” to Cayde for more frivolity.

Amanda Holliday

Shipwright to the Tower, Holliday runs the hangar like a finely tuned engine. As you’d expect, she also sells things. These goods are attached to a variety of ships (which you use for traveling between Landing Zones) and vehicles (Sparrow variants). Purchase them and an assortment of mods with Glimmer.
