Infinite Forest

Enter the Infinite Forest and defeat Panoptes now, before a Vex victory becomes inevitable! You begin at the Lighthouse, and Ikora opens the gateway into the Infinite Forest. Then, you pass into the Infinite Forest. Fighting through it will be more difficult than prior attempts. There will be a stronger force of enemies and doors locked by red glowing Daemons. Take out the Daemons and their reinforcements if necessary to move on through the Forest reaching the gateway leading to Panoptes.

Objectives
  • Destroy Panoptes, the Infinite Mind
Enemies
  • Vex, Infinite Variations
  • Boss: Panoptes
  • Reward: Legendary Engram, Hero of the Infinite Emblem

Panoptes

You’ve entered an enclosed passage arena with Panoptes at the other open end.

Panoptes is immune during this time. Panoptes immediately summons a throng of Goblins in the center and along the upper sides, with a couple Hobgoblins in either upper area.

Move up top and begin removing Vex. Panoptes doesn’t seem to directly attack. It sends a Vex Minotaur–Achronos, Infinite Proxy–to deal with you. Take it out with a few solid Power weapon blows. Once you've defeated these Vex, Panoptes moves further away. Jump on the gravity cannon to proceed.

Panoptes moved the battle to another stage. There’s still no sign of Osiris. Fell some Fallen on the first small platform as Panoptes summons more simulated enemies. Hop on the next gravity cannon.

On the second small floating platform, Panoptes throws enemies at you that are easily brushed aside.

On the third floating platform, Panoptes summons a rushing horde of Hive Thrall and Acolytes.

Once you have reached the second stage, Panoptes summons large hordes of enemies. They take cover, and so should you. Pick the stragglers off one by one.

After you kill enough enemies, Panoptes will summon another batch.

The third batch of foes has a four-bar boss: Taldriks, Infinite Proxy. If you're playing it safe, remove his entourage and begin dealing damage to the mini-boss, whom you can down handily with Power weapons or grenades. If you are aggressive, Taldriks can be killed before his minions which will wipe them out as well.

Osiris shows up out of nowhere. He distracts Panoptes and sets you to task. Take down Panoptes’ defenses.

Jump through the gravity cannons to soar up to a platform and grab an Arc charge from a Reflection of Osiris. Dunk it onto the plate.

Panoptes' eye opens up. It’s a precision point. Deal as much damage as possible. Damage it enough that it sends you flying back.

Grenades: Recommended

Supers: Recommended

Another battle against simulated Hive enemies begins. Enemies are everywhere, so be careful when your health begins to deplete. Get behind cover and take of enemies methodically. Be aware of radar here; it just may save you.

A second mini-wave brings more hordes along with some Wizards.

Supers: Recommended

The third wave holds many Hive enemies to kill and one of them is Ergot, Infinite Proxy. Ergot is a Hive Knight. Once you've gotten Ergot out of the way, Panoptes prepares another attack–only for Osiris to come and block it. Again, jump through the provided gravity cannons, dunk the Arc charge, and fire upon Panoptes' eye.

Panoptes isn’t dead yet. Handle the first wave of Cabal Psions. Stay near cover if necessary. A second wave with War Beasts quickly follows, after which, you move along another gravity cannon to the final stage.

Here Panoptes summons masses of Fanatics for you to spill radiolarian hazards everywhere. Moving forward, you find more Axis Goblins and Harpies. Keep whittling away at the advancing enemy.

Once you've dismantled everything, Alecto, Infinite Proxy appears toward the end.

One more Arc charge forms as well as a bridge to carry you. You are given one last shot at the eye. Once Panoptes is dead, the possibilities are infinite!

After you return to Brother Vance, he offer's one of the five pieces of the Mercury set armor for your class. Return to the Tower, approach Ikora, and she’ll give you Exotic arms.
