While it may be a stretch to call Midtown a symmetrical map, it does have a fairly balanced distribution of movement lanes. It consists of some relatively open areas connected by narrow paths, so you can virtually use any weapon effectively in at least a few areas.
Of course, there’s no guarantee that your enemies will frequent your preferred locations. It’s recommended that you equip at least one long-range weapon, but a short- to mid-range weapon is sure to come in handy.
This map also features several interior spaces. Some of these are significant structures with multiple points of entry; others are little more than alcoves. Whether you’re looking for an alternate route or a bit of emergency cover, remember that heading indoors tends to limit your vertical mobility.
Much of the map’s border is defined by the adjacent body of water, which serves as something of an environmental hazard. Fatal falls may not be common, but they’re entirely possible.
It’s also worth noting that the terrain tends to slope upward as you move away from the waterfront. Most of the available paths include steps or ramps that can enhance or hinder evasive maneuvers.
