The Campaign Missions represent the first major and continuous conflict that you and your fellow Guardians become part of. The Campaign is (initially) played using a single Guardian, and it’s the key to unlocking all other mission types, locations, and activities across the four worlds of the Director. Continue to complete Campaign Missions to obtain looted engrams and items, the ability to unlock all the previously mentioned content, and more. Need to find Devrim Kay? Want to see Hawthorne on the Farm? Hoping to talk to Cayde-6? Want a full range of Guardian abilities? Once certain missions are concluded, the Campaign Missions hold the key to revealing all of this.
Ikora Rey’s Campaign Meditation
Perhaps you only just scraped through a Campaign Mission, or you were hoping to replay a mission with a fireteam of like-minded individuals. Fortunately, after you’ve completed the Campaign once, you can visit Ikora Rey at the Tower and access available Campaign content. This is an excellent way to up your Reputation with Ikora so you can obtain the specific weapons and armor she possesses.
Campaign Content
This guide has recommended and optimal tactics for completing every Campaign Mission. As you read through each mission, you’ll notice a number of references. Here’s what everything means.
Recommended Level and Power: Missions have Requirements and Recommendations.
Requirements: This is the minimum Level the player must be to launch the mission. The most important Requirements for Campaign are Riptide (your first time on Titan, which requires Level 4), Looped (First time on Nessus, requires level 7), Sacrilege (First time on Io, requires level 11), and Payback (first mission back in EDZ after Vanguard re-unites, requires level 15)
Post-campaign requirements change from Level to Power.
Recommended Power is what is displayed once a player has access to a mission. Playing the mission under this recommended power is harder: enemies are harder to kill and deal more damage to the player.
Objectives: This lists the expected objectives you need to fulfill throughout the mission in question.
Enemies Encountered: This lists the expected enemies in each map Sector, arranged by combatant and then in the order of appearance. Consult the Bestiary for takedown tactics.
New Actions to Learn: The first time you are expected to complete a new action (all of which are detailed in this guide’s Field Manual chapter), it is listed here.
Important Allies: The first time you meet a new and important ally is flagged here.
Maps: Each part of the mission is divided into specific Sectors, with a map showing pertinent information (usually waypoints that are called out in the main text).
Super, Grenades, and Warnings: “Super” and “Grenades” are the times when it is recommended to use these Guardian abilities. This helps you learn about optimal times so you don’t waste a Super needlessly or use it just before you really need to. “Warnings” indicate whether the location you’re about to enter is a Restricted Zone, where respawning is limited.
