Warlock Abilities

Class Ability: Rift

Due to the Warlock’s affinity for Recovery, it understands the fluid nature of give and take, gain and loss. The Warlock’s Class Ability generates a Rift that grants bonuses to all allies within it. While both variations can be extremely useful, each Warlock must sacrifice one effect for the other, and anyone hoping to gain the selected bonus must be willing to stand wherever the Rift is summoned.

As the name implies, Healing Rift provides sustained healing for the Warlock and any allies within its border. It’s a straightforward but extremely useful support Ability.

Empowering Rift gives the Warlock’s Class Ability a decidedly offensive bent, boosting the damage of the caster and any allies who remain within its border.

Dawnblade (Solar)

The Dawnblade is a high-damage Subclass uniquely well-suited to aerial combat. It offers a bit of utility, but setting enemies ablaze is most definitely the Dawnblade’s focus.

The Dawnblade Subclass is automatically unlocked when you complete Campaign Mission: Spark.

Super Ability: Daybreak

While active, Daybreak allows the Dawnblade to hurl flaming projectiles. It can be used both on the ground and in the air. It’s a powerful attack in either case, but few things can match the spectacle of an airborne Dawnblade raining fire down upon its enemies.

Grenade

The Dawnblade can choose between a persistent grenade, a seeker grenade, and a sticky grenade.

Melee and Ability Enhancements

The Dawnblade’s remaining Abilities support two distinct playstyles:

Attunement of Sky features an undeniable focus on aerial combat. It allows for weapons and grenades to be used without breaking Glide, it unlocks a midair Dodge, and it rewards airborne kills with additional grenade and melee energy. Due to the inherent risks that come with aerial combat (like the noticeable lack of cover options), this path is best suited to aggressive, Mobility-focused playstyles.

Attunement of Flame also encourages high-flying antics, but it does so via Super enhancements. It adds multiple effects to Daybreak projectiles, and it serves to prolong the duration of an active Super. One of the most notable Abilities allows the Dawnblade to drop down mid-jump, regaining health based on the length of the fall and (if Daybreak is active) delivering damage upon landing. However, because Daybreak can also be used on the ground, this path is a good fit for more conservative playstyle

Voidwalker (Void)

The Voidwalker is an explosive combatant who typically favors hit-and-run tactics. As a Subclass, it offers impressive versatility, particularly when it comes to grenade use. Depending on the selected Abilities, a Voidwalker can consume grenade energy to regain health or sacrifice Super energy to use uniquely powerful grenade attacks. In either case, the Voidwalker allows for some very effective Ability rotations.

The Voidwalker is the Warlock’s second available Subclass. It unlocks only after you’ve collected the required Artifact and completed the resulting mission.

Super Ability: Nova Bomb

In its simplest form, Nova Bomb is a powerful projectile that delivers a massive explosion on impact. However, available Abilities significantly change the nature of this Super, ensuring that a fully developed Voidwalker has some interesting strategic options.

Grenade

By default, Voidwalkers can choose between what amounts to a persistent grenade, a seeker grenade, and a blast grenade. However, the available Chaos Accelerant Ability can be used to enhance these offerings, most notably by adding a seeker effect to the otherwise straightforward Scatter Grenade.

Melee and Ability Enhancements

The Voidwalker’s remaining Abilities support two distinct playstyles:

Attunement of Chaos focuses on improved multi-target damage, particularly through grenade use. Chaos Accelerant allows the Voidwalker to overcharge an equipped grenade to make it much more effective when thrown. As a nice bonus, the featured Melee Ability allows for more frequent grenade attacks. Along with the other bundled effects, this path is a good choice for damage-focused Voidwalkers.

Attunement of Hunger features a heavy focus on survivability. The most intriguing effect allows a Voidwalker to consume its grenade energy for a full heal, along with a brief heal-over-time benefit. This effect is also granted after Melee Ability kills. In both cases, subsequent kills can prolong the healing effect while recharging grenade energy.

Stormcaller (Arc)

When it comes to multi-target damage, the Stormcaller is a terror on the battlefield. It lends itself to some very aggressive playstyles, but it also features some outstanding support Abilities. In the end, the Stormcaller is a great choice for Warlocks who like to charge into the fray, with or without their allies.

The Stormcaller is the Warlock’s third available Subclass. It unlocks only after you’ve collected the required Artifact and completed the resulting mission.

Super Ability: Stormtrance

While active, Stormtrance allows a Stormcaller to float across the battlefield, electrocuting and disintegrating foe after foe. It has a fairly short range, but Stormtrance is a high-damage Super capable of tearing through an impressive number of enemies.

Grenade

The Stormcaller can choose between a seeker grenade, a persistent grenade, and a blast grenade.

Melee and Ability Enhancements

The Stormcaller’s remaining Abilities support two distinct playstyles:

Attunement of Ions features several improvements to multi-target damage. It offers chain-damage effects for Melee and Grenade Abilities, but it also includes some very useful Super enhancements. Overall, this path is a good fit for self-sufficient Stormcallers who favor aggressive tactics.

Attunement of the Elements features great utilities paired with a heavy focus on team play. When this path is selected, sticking close to allies increases the charge rate of the Stormcaller’s chosen Class Ability. It also improves the assigned Rift by granting an auto-firing Arc Soul to any allies who pass through it.
