Drop down into the large hole at the surface of Hallows, as the stairs cut into the rim of the hole are for those who want to ascend. Follow the waypoints to a circular part of the subterranean area, where Vex architecture is embedded into this strange structure.
You find Cayde hanging around here, but he is forcefully blinked out of your existence and replaced by a squad of six Vex Goblins materializing from the columns surrounding the central plinth.
You risk death by standing in the middle of these columns, so retreat back up, and tag each Goblin in the lower torso where they glow white (their weak spot). Shooting their heads with a weapon that is less powerful than a sniper rifle usually results in the head being taken off, but the remaining body going “berserk.” It charges at you and causes you damage as it arrives and (possibly) explodes. You can also destroy Goblins with a headshot if you’ve already shot at their “white point” and damaged them; this is an alternate way to remove them. Damaging and melee attacking them is also feasible.
Methodical torso shots to their precision hit location are needed here, especially as four or five additional Goblins arrive at two different portals, and then another six Goblins appear from the columns around the central circle.
The battle does not let up as a larger Vex robot with a Void Shield, known as a Minotaur, appears with six Goblins. Slay them, and expect two more Minotaurs and another dozen or so Goblins to come before the Vex trap you stumbled into subsides and no additional foes appear.
Minotaurs have nasty, damaging laser rifles, can teleport short distances (making your grenades tricky to land), and have a reasonably quick gait. Switch to a Void Energy weapon to make short work of those shields, then focus on the torso “white point” weak spot. Feel free to shoot off the head if you want to stop the Minotaur from teleporting or recharging its shields, but prepare to be bombarded with rifle fire as it goes berserk. Make these your priority targets.
With the appearance of the Minotaurs, this is a good opportunity to utilize your Super. After the battle, follow the waypoints out of Hallows, and head into the lower depths of this icy rock.
