Loadout Recommendations

You’re facing a whole lot of Vex, including a couple of Hydras and some troublesome Goblins, Harpies, and Hobgoblins, as well as the ever-annoying Fanatics. Make your loadout choices accordingly: close-range assault weaponry with mid-range rapid-fire, and a rocket launcher for big damage.

From the starting point at The Tangle, head across the Sector to the area where the Hydra usually resides. Don’t mix up the conflux trial with any Public Event underway here. Access the conflux, and then protect it from a horde of incoming Goblins, Fanatics, and the odd Minotaur that trot down the incline toward the conflux. Expect a Elite Harpy at around 50 percent complete, which is a good time to use a Super. You need to stick around the conflux so the trial doesn’t stall. Use the pillar near the conflux and other rocky scenery as cover. Stay mobile and keep jumping to avoid becoming a sitting duck. Fanatics are priority targets. Leap above them so they don’t detonate at your location. Jumping and area-of-effect weapons pointed at incoming enemy clusters are good plans here. So are shotguns and your faithful rapid-fire rifles or hand cannon takedowns one at a time.

With the conflux trial completed, follow the wisp, a Vex orb that coaxes you onto a series of block platforms that disappear when you land on them. These are suspended over the central gorge, so take care when jumping across. Head to a higher overhang, and study the platforms. It seems only the smaller square-shaped blocks disappear, and there’s usually an adjacent one you can land on (which alternately disappears when the previous one reappears). Just land on any of the outer platforms with the trial orb access, and start the dexterity trial.

You simply need to wait for the disappearing smaller platform near you to reappear, then jump onto it, and to either of the remaining outer platforms. Access the second trial orb, then leap across and access the third orb, completing the trial.

Drop down below the platforms, and follow the wisp into a Vex portal and through the connecting tunnel into the Chamber of Stone. Beware! This is a Restricted Zone! Begin the trial of power, involving the culling of a cluster of appearing Goblins and a Hobgoblin in the first chamber. Remain by the entrance tunnel and edge of this chamber as a second cluster of Vex appears, including a couple of Hobgoblins and a Elite Hydra. Slay the Hydra last, using the scenery as cover.

A barrier recedes, and access is granted to an inner chamber, where the trial continues. Battle Goblins and Harpies to begin with, along with Fanatics. Then, more Goblins, Harpies, and another Hydra (or Chamber Warden) appear. Back up if you need to, as it’s better to retreat and stay alive in this Restricted Zone. Defeat the Harpies and Goblins before stepping back into the chamber to face the Hydra. As ever, cover and sidestepping, as well as rapid-fire shots into the Hydra’s eye, are the keys to success. After this battle, you can take a moment to pay respects to one of the Exodus Black crew members who made it this far. He’s looking a little worse for wear now, however. Now that the crewmate has been found, the Adventure concludes.
