Mass Effect: Andromeda Collector's Edition Guide › Secondary Ops

Truth and Trespass

Mission Type: Allies and Relationships

Prerequisite: Mission 2

Start Location: Tempest

Unlocking: Talk to Kallo.

Speak with Kallo

Tempest Bridge

This operation unlocks after you leave Eos and talk to Kallo on the Tempest bridge in Chapter 2. Kallo asks if you noticed anything strange on the salarian ark. He plays a comms recorded message that suggests the salarian ark was not captured by chance. If you want to know more, meet the contact at the coordinates given.

Go to the Meeting Point

Havarl

Land on Havarl (1) and use the forward station in the Central Wilds or in the Chasm of the Builders to reach the south end of the chasm water—following the navpoint (2). Defeat wildlife and Remnant along the way. You find the navpoint in the water just as you cross over the short Remnant wall.

Stop the Ambush

Thought it was too quiet and empty out here? That’s right, it’s an ambush. Defeat the kett. You battle an Anointed and multiple Chosen.

Search the Area

Find the capture gear nearby. Scan it. It appears to be used to capture prisoners for live transport.

Examine the Kett Supplies

Examine the capture gear after scanning it. This triggers a cutscene where you meet Saelen. You introduce yourselves and quickly address the call he made about the salarian ark. You can ask him about his service with STG, or comment, “Good for you,” or “Spies never retire,” in response to his formal introduction. He confesses that all he can determine is someone betrayed the salarians to the kett. Saelen suspects the rat is a biologist named Dr. Aden. Agree to help him verify his suspect.

You earn a small amount of AVP and Havarl Viability +2%. That’s it for Havarl. You’re off to Voeld.

Scan Evidence from the Kett Handler

Voeld

Depending on whether there’s currently an Initiative outpost on Voeld, you either land near the Resistance base (3) or at your existing outpost (4). Use a forward station to fast travel to the kett handler (5). Once there, you discover a kett outpost. Defeat the Anointed and the many Chosen.

Search through all the carnage for the kett handler, then scan his body to collect evidence. Results are positive. He has an implanted comms device. You earn a little AVP, and Voeld Viability gets a +2% push. Head to Techiix (6).

Scan Dr. Aden’s Equipment on Voeld

Techiix

Follow the navpoint deep inside Techiix (6), and enter the marked building. Inside are multiple pieces of gear to scan that belongs to the doctor. Scan the large lab equipment to the left as you enter the left side door. Scan the lab equipment in the farthest corner of the room behind Yeveth.

There’s another, taller piece of lab equipment in the middle of the room on the left wall. Looks like an old coal stove. With all the equipment scanned, there’s one more thing you need. Scan the angaran medical stats case hanging on the wall to the right (as you walk in through the left door). You earn another small amount of AVP and +2% Voeld Viability.

Speak to Hayjer About Your Findings

Nexus Operations

Travel to the Zheng He system and land on the Nexus. Go to operations and speak to Hayjer (7), who’s waiting for you on the second landing in the Pathfinder’s quarters.

He says he’s there to help with the investigation into Dr. Aden at Saelen Varn’s request. This is the right guy. Ask him if he believes the traitor theory. He tells you Rand Lon, an ark officer, has an apartment nearby. A quick scan could turn up something.

Search Rand Lon’s Apartment

Nexus Commons

Head to the top deck in the commons, then to the first apartment on the right (8). Hack the door open and search the apartment. Scan the dust traces (footprints) around the beds (9) in the back room.

Scan the food traces(10) in the kitchen.

Scan the talcum powder(11) on the coffee table.

Scan the personal terminal(12) on the wall.

Scan the plant(P) in the corner. This is the key evidence; you learn someone has been around to water it. SAM locates a single fiber on the leaf, and it shows traces of novetamine.

Leave Rand Lon’s Apartment

After scanning enough evidence, you’re directed to leave the apartment. Just outside, you run into the owner of the apartment, Rand Lon. Awkward. Be truthful, or not, about your intentions in his room. Ask him about Dr. Aden. He says the two of them were awakened from stasis around the same time. When you mention Saelen’s name, the conversation takes a turn. You get his side of the story.

Go to the Navpoint

Elaaden

SAM uses the samples from the scans to find the planet where the doctor should be. Travel to Elaaden. You land at your outpost (13) or the Paradise (14), depending on your progress there. Use the Sea of Ataraxia Forward Station (15), get the Nomad, and head northwest to the navpoint (16). You come to a wrecked shuttle in the outskirts of the desert.

Scan the Ground

Scan the footprints leading away from the shuttle. Follow the footprint trail up the nearby dune. A navpoint (17) appears at the top.

Follow the Tracks

Follow the tracks until you come to a contraption (17) in the desert guarded by scavengers and Adhi. Must be something useful.

Defeat the Scavengers

Defeat the wildlife and the scavengers around the weird desert device. It becomes a bit of an ambush, so be prepared for a bigger battle than what first appears. Reinforcements come running from over the dunes.

Help Saelen

After the battle, look through the carnage for Saelen lying on the ground next to the small ramp on the platform. He says he called you to see if one of his suspects would do something reckless. They did. He found out about the

investigation you were running on the doctor and realized you were used to destroy evidence—evidence that pointed to Dr. Aden, who didn’t have the clearance to alter logs or affect the nav computer. In the end, you need to decide to tell him there’s no leverage to get Dr. Aden now or select “I don’t trust you” if you feel like you’re being used again. You earn a little AVP and Elaaden Viability +2%.

Speak to Raeka About Your Findings

If you decide on getting more leverage, speak with Raeka to end the quest.

Speak to the Imposter in Kadara’s Caves

If you choose not to trust Saelen in your last conversation with him, you find the imposter in Kadara’s caves. Use the forward station in Sulfur Springs, and then run or take the Nomad south to the Draullir cave entrance.

Find Dr. Aden standing not too far into the tunnel next to a container of goodies. Talk to him. Saelen joins the conversation as well. You have a choice to make: Free Dr. Aden for the intel, or arrest him. Free him, and Saelen gets upset. Either way, the mission ends and you earn a lot of XP.
