Mass Effect: Andromeda Collector's Edition Guide › Secondary Ops

The Lost Scout

Mission Type: Heleus Assignment: Voeld

Prerequisite: Mission 2; must have traveled to Aya; complete “Meet the Resistance”

Start Location: Voeld

Unlocking: Talk to Haana or rescue Mashal

Talk to Haana

Voeld: Angaran Resistance Base

In the hangar entrance to the angaran Resistance base, you overhear a conversation where an angara, Haana (1), is desperately asking for help in finding her friend who’s been left behind at a kett ammo depot. Her friend, Mashal, is the explosives expert who destroyed the depot, and Haana is convinced Mashal is still alive. Agree to help find her.

Investigate the Ruins

Exit the base (2) to travel to the Hjara Forward Station (3). Enter the Nomad and head southwest to the navpoint (4), which leads you to the snow-covered mountainside. As you approach, you see the glowing orange lights of many small fires.

Scan the Area

Kett Ammo Depot Ruins

Exit the Nomad at the blazing depot and pull up the scanner. You can scan a lot in the area, including the large structural platform (5) that makes up most of the debris in the middle of the ruins, and multiple kett portable heating elements (6) that are like breadcrumbs leading you to an entrance platform that’s still intact. Scan it all, and then get to the top of the ruins, where one more heating element marks the entrance (7) to the facility in the mountainside.

Enter the Destroyed Ammo Depot

Inside the depot are two doors linked by an underground conduit you can only see with a scan. The door on the right is locked. The door in the back is not.

Search for Survivors

You can try to open the locked door; then listen for survivors on the other side. Head into the next room through the unlocked door.

Restore Power

Continue forward to find a breakable wall on the left. Use your omni-blade to smash through. In this small room, hack the console that’s revealed to restore power to the depot. This allows you to unlock the door in the first room. Exit the small control room. There’s a flame-throwing trap disguised as a console in the back-right corner of the same room—so don’t mess with it.

Free the Survivors

Return to the first room and head through the now-unlocked doorway to find Mashal, still alive. In the room with her is a kett captive she’s been joyfully torturing for revenge. You have a decision to make: Either leave her to her torture session, or choose to put the kett out of their misery. If you leave her, Haana will be very upset that Mashal did not return with you.

Return to Haana with Updates

Use the forward station (2) to fast travel back to the Resistance base, then head back through the base to the hangar and speak with Haana (1). Tell her the news without the ugly details.
