Mass Effect: Andromeda Collector's Edition Guide › Secondary Ops

Overgrown

Mission Type: Heleus Assignment: Havarl

Prerequisite: Complete “A Dying Planet”

Start Location: Havarl

Unlocking: Talk to Dr. Tassana Rilar

Talk to Dr. Tassana Rilar

Havarl: Pelaav Research Station

Speak to Dr. Tassana Rilar (1), a scientist studying Havarl biological specimens on the platform near Angaran Headquarters. Initiative scientists have asked you to analyze mutated wildlife to determine what’s causing the accelerated growth rate of life on Havarl.

Cross-Reference Genetic Markers with Known Creature Dens

The first objective is a hop, skip, and a jump away from the scientists. Enter the Pelaav science facility (first floor) and access the Genetic Archive Database console. Select the three research projects: Mutated Challyrion, Mutated Rylkor, and Mutated Eiroch. Navpoints for each specimen are added to your map.

Collect Data from a Challyrion

Check your map. The navpoint due north from headquarters is where you find the Challyrion (2). Follow the navpoint to discover a cave. As soon as you spot the opening, five mutated Challyrions come charging out. Scan them while they’re alive. Make sure to explore the cave and raid the container.

Collect Data from a Rylkor

Head east to the next navpoint to find a mutated Rylkor (3). A simple strategy is to drop down to the top of its cave from the forward station platform and then quickly scan the Rylkor as it exits. Scan in the area to find debris from the Ark Natanus while you’re here.

Collect Data from an Eiroch

Head to the ancient courtyard and south from the forward station to find a cave (4) where you can discover and scan the mutated Eiroch. When you reach the cave, you may find it empty and instead encounter a band of Roekaar. Be prepared to fight; your next objective concerns these enemy angara. The Eiroch often shows up during the battle; get a scan, then search through the camp supplies.

Comparatively Alien

You are killing two Eirochs with one stone. The scans you obtain for the Havarl science team also count toward the wildlife you need to scan for “Task: Comparatively Alien.” This hunt should allow you to get the last of the scans you need for that task.

Search the Roekaar Hunting Party’s Supplies

Once you’ve dealt with the Roekaar, search their supplies to find and examine a datapad that contains a “Research Progress” report detailing how the Roekaar want to use the toxic mutated wildlife as a weapon.

Investigate the Roekaar Camp

Go to the north end of the ancient courtyard, following the navpoint (5) to a wall of ancient Remnant pillars. Jump to the top of these and defeat the Roekaar and Adhi in the camp. Continue following the navpoint to a console that says “Roekaar Genetic Research Log” and activate it. SAM deduces that the Roekaar took special interest in mutations that would poison a natural environment. You can decide to destroy the files or copy and delete them. No adverse consequences result from either choice.

You can interact with the Roekaar communications console right next to the other when you’re done. There are a few messages of interest here.

Return to the Scientists

Return to the research station and talk to the Nexus scientists (1) to complete the mission. You can use a forward station if you’re in a hurry. You can interact with the Roekaar communications console right next to the other when you’re done. There are a few messages of interest here.
