Speak to the Irritated Researcher
Voeld, Hyjara
While exploring Hjara and finishing “On the Front Lines,” enter the building (1) next to Skeot and talk to the irritated researcher. He’s dealing with equipment malfunctions and can’t get important information to the Resistance in Telara.
Examine the Equipment
After speaking to the irritated researcher, examine the console directly beside him. This kicks off the side quest. Make sure to scan the communications equipment in this building and other angaran tech around Hjara, like the infrared surveillance device near the merchant bar and the large ice block. Also, raid the container at the base of the westernmost red light (one of the tall red lights Hjara is famous for).
Search for the Source of Interference
Drive the Nomad to the navpoint (2) in northern Voeld (just east of the northern holding site in “Stage a Rescue”). Before you inspect the huge meteorite here, take care of any wildlife in the area, which are behaving especially wild.
Defeat the Adhi
There’s an ammo crate next to the meteorite, and it doesn’t take long to figure out why. Eight wild Adhi rapidly approach your position.
You may get so overwhelmed by these beasts that you resort to jumping, ground-pounding area attacks using your blade to damage many at once.
Scan the Meteorite
When you catch a break from the wildlife, scan the meteorite. Apparently it’s the remainder of a metallic meteor that landed on Voeld. It’s emitting strange energy that disrupts communications and, oddly enough, seems to cause aggression in nearby wildlife—no joke.
Neutralize the Signal
After scanning the meteorite, you can start dampening it. It’s a long hack-like process. As soon as you begin, look for a horde of wild Adhi charging you from across the frozen lake. Stop dampening and deal with the beasts. Afterward, finish dampening. SAM suggests bringing a sample to the Nexus for further analysis. This completes the mission and frees up the angaran communications.
