Initially, all the scientists are together in operations on the rear deck (1). When the commons opens, the scientists move to the tech lab (2). Speak to the scientists to open a collection task from each.
You may need to speak to Professor Herik twice in a row to open the collection mission “Comparatively Alien.” The first time you talk to him completes an objective in “Getting to Know the Nexus,” as he’s someone to get to know. Talking to him a second time (about wildlife scans) unlocks his collection task, in which you’re to scan 10 Andromeda wildlife specimens.
Access the Terminal
After speaking to each scientist, you must also access a terminal (1) to confirm the scientists’ quests (because there’s not enough paperwork in Heleus). There’s a terminal located in operations and a second one in the tech lab, so no matter where you find the scientists, you can immediately use a terminal to initiate their tasks. In this case, accept the task (to scan wildlife) by selecting “Final Proposal: Prof. N. Herik, et al.”
Scan 10 Andromeda Wildlife Species
This mission usually spans a greater part of your travels. If you scan every wildlife critter you can, you’ll have this quest done quickly.
