Mass Effect: Andromeda Collector's Edition eGuide Multiplayer Multiplayer Skills and Powers

Combat

Combat powers can be used to deal heavy area-of-effect damage and increase the effectiveness of your weapons. A few great defensive powers also help players using combat powers to maintain more of a tank role, putting out steady damage-per-second with short bursts of damage from grenades and other abilities. Many combat powers require power cells for use.

Tips
  • The upgraded version provides combat bonuses to all allies behind the barricade.
  • Once you’ve unlocked Rank 6 Electric Defense, enemies in close proximity take electric damage and have a chance to be stunned and primed for combo detonations. To make the most of this power, put the barricade inside a doorway or other area that will force enemies to come within a short distance of it.

Tips
  • Concussive Shot requires no power cells and is the only power in the combat skill tree that can detonate enemies without any upgrades, making it an extremely useful tool for the soldier who plays with a team.
  • While the name may make Concussive Shot seem like a power used only for stunning enemies, it actually deals a high amount of damage.
  • Enemies behind cover are not completely safe from the Concussive Shot. Aim a little bit above their cover to cause the shot to curve down and hit them.

  • If the initial shot from the Flak Cannon hits an enemy, it deals damage on the hit in addition to any damage caused by the shrapnel.

  • Enemies hit by the flamethrower are not immediately primed. Prime a single enemy before moving on to another when facing multiple foes.
  • Releasing the Flamethrower button early shortens the recharge time proportionately.

  • Enemies suffer more damage the closer they are to the mine, with minimum damage of 33% at the edge of the area of effect.
  • The Rank 6 EMP upgrade doesn’t only make the Trip Mine much more effective against shielded enemies—it primes and stuns unshielded enemies as well!
