Mass Effect: Andromeda Collector's Edition Guide › Multiplayer › Multiplayer Skills and Powers

Tech

Tech powers focus on priming enemies and buffing you and your allies. Having a good tech player to set your team up for combos increases your survivability. No tech powers require power cells for use, allowing you to continuously use your powers after recharge without visiting ammo crates.

Powers

Assault Turret

Prime: Requires Rank 6 Cryo Ammo or Flamethrower Detonate: No Characters: Angara Insurgent, Human Female Engineer, Human Male Engineer, Krogan Engineer

Deploys an automated assault turret that counts as a tech construct.

Flamethrower

A short-range flamethrower burns enemies, causing bonus damage to armor and priming enemies for combo detonations.

Flamethrower DPS: 45

Burn DPS: 22

Flamethrower Range (m): 8

Flamethrower Damage Bonus vs. Armor: 50%

Tips
  • Tap Button: Directs the turret to attack a specific target.
  • Hold Button: Detonates the turret, damaging nearby enemies. The turret also detonates upon death, dealing area-of-effect damage to enemies within a small area.
  • The turret is not only great at guarding your flank and dealing out light damage to enemies, it also attracts the attention of enemies if left in an open area. This allows you to flank larger enemies or make a quick escape to a new defensive position.
  • Unlocking either Rank 6 upgrade permits the turret to prime targets. Cryo ammo doesn’t deal any additional base damage, but slows, primes, and inflicts a 100% armor defense debuff on the enemy, causing it to take more damage from all sources. Flamethrower increases the base damage of the turret by adding a flamethrower attack that deals more than double base damage and leaves the enemy primed and taking damage over time. The flamethrower gets an additional 50% damage bonus against armored enemies.

Avenger Strike

Prime: Requires Rank 6 Disrupting Strike Detonate: No Characters: Angara Avenger

Tips
  • Avenger Strike is only available to the Angara Avenger. This power can deal high damage to a single enemy. However, it leaves you exposed to close-range attacks if the enemy is still alive upon attack completion.
  • Rank 6 Disrupting Strike increases the effectiveness of this power against synthetic and shielded enemies. Disrupting Strike also stuns nearby targets and primes them for combo detonations.

Cryo Trap

When aimed away from a direct target, the beam creates a temporary freezing zone that chills enemies who enter.

Tips
  • Maintain the beam at a single target to freeze it, priming it for combo detonations. Freezing completely disables unarmored targets and slows armored targets but has no effect on shielded targets.
  • Smaller unshielded and unarmored enemies can be completely frozen for a short time, preventing movement and attacks.
  • Rank 6 Snap Freeze can instantly freeze and prime nearby enemies when a shattering cryo combo is performed.

Energy Drain

Prime: Requires Rank 5 Extended Drain Detonate: Yes Characters: Asari Sentinel, Human Female Sentinel, Human Male Sentinel, Salarian Infiltrator

Tips
  • Rank 6 options force you to make a tough choice: focus on damage or take more of a support role restoring shields of nearby allies. Pick the Damage buff to deal extra damage versus shields, synthetic and standard. Pick Team Drain to restore shields of nearby allies; when paired with Auxiliary Drain, this increases your shield-restoring effectiveness.

Incinerate

Prime: Yes Detonate: Requires Rank 6 Detonator Characters: Human Female Infiltrator, Human Male Infiltrator, Krogan Engineer

  • Rank 6 Detonator triggers combo detonations and applies burn damage and damage over time to the target if it survives the combo.

If you can effectively communicate enemy locations to your teammates, leave out Team Vision in favor of Augmented Evasion, which increases your movement speed and protection from damage.

Tips
  • Shield Boost is a great way to save the day when enemies begin to overrun your defense. Using Shield Boost immediately restores a portion of the shields for you and your allies, as well as causing them to regenerate.
  • At Rank 4, you may want to choose Restoration to increase the recharge speed of the shields. Make sure to stay within a short distance of your allies when activating the boost.
  • Communicate with your team before you use Shield Boost to allow them to group up, so all their shields are quickly restored at once!

Tips
  • Stealth Grid is the most useful tool on the battlefield when it comes to completing objectives. Use it to defuse and secure objectives safely.
  • This power can also be used to quickly change defensive locations as a team.
  • Rank 5 Shield Grid regenerates your team’s shields faster when cloaked, allowing all of you to emerge from the cloak with full shields.

Combat Cloak

Tactical Cloak remains active briefly after attacking. Damage bonuses remain in effect during this time.

Cloak Duration After Attack (s): 2

Tips
  • Guns, powers, and melee attacks used from within the cloak gain a damage bonus, but break the cloaking effect.
  • You don’t regenerate shields or health when cloaked, so escaping a fight while cloaked is risky—you might become uncloaked near an enemy.

Max Melee Bonus: 65%

Tips
  • This passive skill can drastically increase your survivability with bonuses to max health and shields. Rank 4 Regeneration doesn’t increase your total amount of health or shields but does increase the amount of health that can be regenerated, as well as lowering the delay for shield and health regeneration.

Tips
  • Rank 5 Anti-Shield increases all power damage against shields by 30%. This is especially useful since electric skills are not as common as fire- or cryo-based skills in the tech skill tree. The 30% increase against shields helps offset the debuff that shields apply to fire- and cryo-based damage.
