Mission Type: Heleus Assignment: Elaaden
Prerequisite: Complete “Investigate Remnant Derelict”
Start Location: Elaaden
Unlocking: Scan the shipping container
Scan the Shipping Container
Elaaden: Languish Remnant Site
This mission unlocks as soon as you exit the Remnant derelict ship and drop a forward station during the quest “Investigate Remnant Derelict.” If you’re continuing from there, find the navpoint (1) to begin this quest next to the forward station in front of the derelict ship. Reach the navpoint area to find a Remnant site, an arrangement of large shipping crates, and two large Fiends. Defeat the Fiends and their little Wraith sidekicks.
Jump up onto the shipping containers to find a smaller container in the middle of arrangement. Scanning the middle container confirms that there used to be a drive core inside.
Trace the Path of the Stolen Drive Core and Retrieve It
Sea of Ataraxia
SAM scans the drive core housing and discerns a unique signature. Suvi uses global planet scans to help pinpoint the location of the stolen drive core so that you can get it back. Follow the next navpoint (2) southwest of your location.
You find a crashed shuttle at the navpoint (2) location. Many dead bodies lying around can be scanned, as well as a large shipping container. None of it yields the results you need. Pick up the datapad lying beside the large shipping container. It contains a password and the coordinates to your next search area (3).
Scavenger Flophouse (“Misery”)
Approach the flophouse from the west, which offers a much wider entry than the narrow-gully east-doorway entrance. While you’re here, you might as well complete “The Flophouse” to clear out the enemies and pick up the jobs “Water Supply” and “Crisis Response.” Afterward, enter the cave (3) near the guard tower, where you listen in on a radio conversation that kick-starts “Water Supply.”
Explore the cave tunnel and open the glowing green door. Pick up some ammo at the crate in the breezeway. Push through the next set of doors and start eliminating a handful of Adhi, Anarchists, and a krogan Berserker in the main chamber.
In the middle of the floor in the main chamber is a Remnant console that looks much different from any you’ve seen before. Interface with it—it’s the drive core. You learn that Strux, not the scavengers or Morda, took the drive core. Your team agrees to keep the discovery quiet, and Gil is tasked with sending an ops crew to remove the drive core from this location. Loot the containers in the chamber and then head back to New Tuchanka (4).
Inform Morda of Strux’s Double-Cross
New Tuchanka
Enter the throne room (5) and speak to Morda. During the conversation, you first blame Strux for the Remnant drive core having gone missing from the derelict ship. Morda clobbers Strux right then and there.
One of your crew (Drack, if he’s with you) spills the beans and tells Morda and Strux that the Nexus is now in possession of the drive core. In your next conversation option, you can choose to say, “We’ve been tricked,” or “I took it from Strux,” or “Oh, now you’re interested,” or “It’s safe.”
While the two krogan succumb to fisticuffs, you need to decide whether to return the drive core to Morda. If the drive core is given to Morda, you can establish an outpost on Elaaden. If not given, you cannot establish an outpost on Elaaden—but you do get 1000 Remnant Tech bonus and 2000 Credits! After the mission, you receive a huge amount of AVP, and Elaaden Viability increases by +10%. Finally, you earn one cryo pod point.
