AVP (Andromeda Viability Points)

The Andromeda Initiative uses a proprietary metric, aptly called Andromeda Viability Points (AVP), to gauge its colonization efforts in the Heleus Cluster.

The AVP value gives you a measure of your progress as a Pathfinder. The higher the score, the closer you are to satisfying the Andromeda Initiative’s core mission. Your accrued AVP is displayed at the top-right corner of the pause menu. AVP can be seen as a type of experience points, except it’s for raising the Nexus Level. (As the Nexus levels up, new Nexus areas become available.)

Additionally, planet Viability ratings are tracked individually, displayed in the HUD of the current planet map or in the Viability menu. (Eos, Voeld, Kadara, Havarl, and Elaaden each has its own Viability percentage rating.)

Raising the Viability rating’s percentage on a UNC increases that planet’s colonist activity, so expect to see more civilians populating the world as that planet’s Viability increases.

The following is a list of methods and actions that raise per-planet Viability, along with an estimate of how much is raised:

  • Exploring and unlocking a Remnant vault: +40%.
  • Establishing an outpost: +20%. Requires a Viability of at least 40% (usually). Does NOT require completing the vault for that planet, but activating a vault is generally the simplest way to achieve this percentage.
  • UNC main plot: ~+10%.
  • Defeating the Architect: ~+10%.
  • Destroying enemy base: ~+10%.
  • B-sory completion: ~+10%.
  • Priority Ops missions: Up to ~+10% for each planet related to the missions.
  • Side quest: ~+2% to ~+5%.
  • Establishing a forward station: ~2%.
