Nakmor Drack: Krogan Betrayal

Mission Type: Allies and Relationships

Prerequisite: Recruit Drack and complete Mission 2

Start Location: Tempest

Unlocking: Speak to Drack on the Tempest after Mission 2

Speak with Drack

Tempest: Galley

Find Nakmor Drack (1) on the Tempest after Mission 2, and exhaust conversations with him if you haven’t talked to him in a while. He ask if you’ve met Spender in Colonial Affairs yet. Finish the conversation options.

Speak with Del Jasin

Nexus Docking Bay

This part is optional but almost unavoidable. Speak to Del Jasin (2), the salarian standing near the hallway to the Tempest in the Nexus docking bay. He just got done speaking to Spender. He’s upset by how Spender is treating him and can’t understand why Spender is in any position of authority. During the conversation, ask if there’s anything you can do to help. He wants to expose Spender to Tann or Addison. But first, he needs you to talk to Kesh and Kandros to get more dirt on Spender.

Talk to Kesh About Spender

Nexus Operations: Kesh’s Office

Enter Kesh’s office (3) in Nexus operations and select the conversation option “Spender’s a piece of work.” She confirms that Spender is a traitor and a threat to the Nexus. Agree to help further. She directs you to some security-footage evidence of his misdoings, but you need permission to see the footage first.

Speak with Kandros

Nexus Docking Bay

Enter the militia office and talk to Kandros (4) to get permission to view the security footage. Ask him about the “mutiny footage.” After getting permission, don’t wander far, as the footage is just across the hallway.

Review the NexusSecurity Footage

Nexus Operations: Addison’s Office

Use the computer (5) facing the main hallway in Addison’s office to view the security footage. After SAM boosts the low-res quality, you think you see Spender handing something to one of the mutineers. Select either “Well, that’s suspicious” or “Could be coincidence” during the first conversation option with SAM.

You both agree that the situation appears to be a cover-up attempt. SAM identifies the mountainous, populated location as Kadara. Your next step in this adventure is to find the Outlaw camp on Kadara once access is granted to that planet.

Confront Spender About the Security Footage

Since Spender works on the bridge in operations, you can choose to speak to him at this point. However, doing so puts the mission on hold until you investigate Kadara. Since all you have right now are accusations, you’ll get nowhere with him. You both agree that the situation appears to be a cover-up attempt. SAM identifies the mountainous, populated location as Kadara. Your next step in this adventure is to find the Outlaw camp on Kadara once access is granted to that planet.

Locate the Planet Mentioned in the Security Footage

The planet mentioned in the security footage is Kadara. You fulfill this objective when you travel to Kadara during “Hunting the Archon.”

Interact with the SAM Node

The most convenient place to complete this objective is from the SAM Node in your room on the Tempest. Check in with SAM after leaving Kadara. SAM’s retrieved actionable intel from the security footage of Spender and sends you a navpoint.

Investigate Spender’s Kadara Connection

Kadara: Southwest Sulfur Springs

When you happen upon this outpost (6) in Sulfur Springs, investigate closer. There are some exiles inside…

Defeat the Exiles

Check your radar on approach. Eight exiles are inside the structure. You hear them screaming to each other. They’ve spotted you and escape in a dropship.

Keep moving to find the real source of the blips on your radar—a landing pad full of Ahdi and Outlaw Raiders. Jump into the arena and let ’em have it.

Search the Hideout for Clues

After the last exile drops, head to the control room on the first level of the multi-story outpost. Inside the large room, find the datapad on a table by the windows.

The datapad contains a letter titled “Paper Trail,” from Aroane to William Spender. Aroane is angry at Spender for not delivering enough supplies to keep pressure on the krogan. The letter also mentions Spender being given a scrambler of great power. You receive a small amount of AVP and +2% Kadara Viability for completing this objective. There are some shipment records on a terminal in a room on the top floor. Spender’s in trouble.

Search for a Scrambler in Spender’s Room

Nexus Commons

Head to the apartments on the second level of the Nexus commons and hack the lock on the door (7) of the last room on the left.

Enter the room. Due to some kind of blackout, SAM can’t see part of the room. Grab the Initiative fighter model on the top of the shelf on your left. Activate the terminal on the counter, listen to the audio logs, and dig through the datapads.

The grand prize is behind the TV. Look behind its right side between it and the wall to find the scrambler(8). This explains SAM’s issues with the blackout areas. Pick up the scrambler. You need an expert to turn the device off properly.

Talk to the Comms Officer

Nexus Operations: Addison’s Office

Head all the way up to Nexus operations on the third floor and talk to the comms officer (9) standing next to Addison on her deck. Hand him the scrambler you found in Spender’s room. He tells you they’re illegal. You ask him to hack it, and he agrees.

Speak to Drack on the Tempest

Tempest

Once back on the Tempest, head to the galley to speak with Drack (1). You need his help, but he needs yours too. He delivers news of a botanist, Hark, who’s reported a transport stolen with the krogan’s one-of-a-kind seed vault on board. Many krogan babies are counting on the synthesized seeds for survival. You agree to help Drack find the thieves. He says Hark is waiting for the two of you at the Elaaden colony, and that he’s tracking down the transport beacon.
