Mass Effect: Andromeda Collector's Edition Guide › Secondary Ops

Making an Impression

Mission Type: Heleus Assignment: Eos

Prerequisite: Settle Eos

Start Location: Eos

Unlocking: Place a seismic hammer

Place the First Seismic Hammer

Eos: Sawtooth Plateau

Eos is experiencing seismic activity. Altering the tremors with a survey hammer might allow better irrigation for Prodromos. Find the location for the first seismic hammer (1) at the Remnant monolith near the forward station at Sawtooth Plateau. Approach the navpoint and activate the survey hammer, which forces Remnant to surface and attack. Take them out with explosives while they’re grouped together.

Place the Second Seismic Hammer

Follow the navpoint (2) to the Remnant monoliths where a second hammer is to be placed. As you approach, you find humans.

Investigate the Strangers at the Site

Approach the scout under the tent at the navpoint. He claims to be from the sovereign nation of Advent. His group is in this region because of their dropping water levels. He suggests that they mine natural gas if your hammers find gas instead of water. They’ll trade gas to your outpost for water. You can opt to agree, in which case he directs you to the hammer after the deal has been made.

After your conversation, two navpoints appear on the map (3)(4). Drill either for water (3) for Prodromos, or for natural gas (4) for Advent, which can be traded for water. You can’t drill in both locations. Whatever you choose, the outcome is the same. An epic battle lies beyond.

Place the Second Hammer to Drill for Water or Gas

After choosing a drill location, one more navpoint appears nearby for placement of the final seismic hammer (5). This also calls Remnant to attack. Defeat the small group of Observers, Creepers, and Assemblers.

Place the Third Seismic Hammer

After the battle, you discover the tremors are caused by neither the Remnant nor the hammers. Place the last hammer at the last navpoint (5).

Defeat the Remnant Architect

Placing the third hammer calls a humongous Remnant out of the ground. This is the daddy of all Remnant, called the Architect. You face one of these on each planet you settle. Ammo and armor pickups appear all over the large battlefield; use these pickups and take cover often to survive this exhilarating battle. Refer to the Architect Encounters section of this guide for our Architect battle tips.

During the Remnant stages of this battle, you fight Assemblers, Breachers, and Nullifiers. Once the battle is over, the creature falls to the ground and reveals an interactive spot in its open mouth. Activate it to complete the battle and reprogram the Architect, which causes it to fly off. This battle earns you massive amounts of AVP, and the most XP earned from any type of battle. Loads of XP! Make sure to look for the reward container left behind as well.

Orbiting Architect

If you couldn’t get a scan of the Architect while fighting it, then next time you’re orbiting Eos in the Tempest, select the “Remains” like you would a landing zone, and there it is! Scan it from the Tempest and add to your Research Data.
