After speaking with Kiiran Dals when you first enter the main science facility in Pelaav on Havarl, look for Raashel Vier, a female angaran archeoastronomer who lived in the city before it was abandoned after Havarl’s vault malfunctioned. She’s in the same room (1).
Raashel collects and studies ancient cultural records of pre-Scourge angaran civilization, and believes some of the data she gathered may provide links to lost angaran colonies. However, all Raashel’s data was left behind during the catastrophe that ruined the city. What remains of her former home is now infested by mutant wildlife. Volunteer to clean out the beasts and access Raashel’s computer to recover the data.
Recover Data from Raashel’s Personal Console
On your trek north through the Havarl jungle, check your scanner regularly and forage through containers. You’re on a new planet with lots of new tech, vegetation, and wildlife to discover and add to your Research Data.
As you near Raashel’s house (2), SAM detects multiple lifeforms in the area. Be prepared to battle numerous new creatures: the cloaked Challyrion, Drall, and maybe even a Rylkor and Galorn. Scan all these creatures, dead or alive, to further the “Comparatively Alien” task.
Raashel’s Home
Enter the ruins of Raashel’s home (2) and find the computer near the front entrance on the wall to the right. SAM tells you the data core in the computer is damaged beyond repair.
You relay the news to Raashel via comms. During your conversation, you learn that backups exist but went down with the city’s network center, which is now underground. She mentions the possibility of using an access point on the surface to reach these backups. She puts a navpoint on the map directing you to where a network memory center used to be.
Find a Network Access Node
As you make your way from the ruined house to the navpoint (3) marking the computer access point, you run into more wildlife. Defeat the beasts and use your scanner to spot the underground conduit. Trace this and the navpoint to the computer next to a boulder.
While using the computer, Raashel remotely downloads the data and congratulates you. She will pass on the data to her colleagues. You earn 29 AVP for completing this mission.
