Mass Effect: Andromeda Collector's Edition eGuide Secondary Ops

The Little Things That Matter

Mission Type: Allies and Relationships

Prerequisite: Settle two planets (or one, plus a krogan refusal on Elaaden)

Start Location: Any planet where you’ve placed an Outpost

Unlocking: Detect the MWS satellite anomaly that explodes in orbit

Investigate the Satellite Signal

Location: Any System with a Placed Settlement

A strange signal causes the Tempest to auto-respond, suggesting someone knows a lot about Andromeda Initiative tech. Search the systems where you have settlements for the source. You find a ZK Resource Tracker—a spy satellite that tracks Initiative shipments and allocates emergency drops without authorization.

The ZK Recourse Tracker explodes upon discovery, but Suvi gets a serial that triggers an alert. SAM suggests contacting Addison.

Speak with Addison via Tempest Vidcon

Tempest: Meeting Room

Call Addison on the Vidcon (1) in the meeting room. It turns out she already knows about the destroyed satellite. She tells you the satellites were designed by Dr. Kennedy, who disappeared with the exiles. The fact that this tech is showing up suggests the exiles may have a chance to steal from your outposts. Through conversation, you can get more information from Addison. She leaves you with the task of searching for more ZK Resource Trackers to find a point of origin.

Find ZK Resource Trackers

Tempest: Bridge

From the bridge (2), travel to each system where you’ve established an outpost on one of its planets.

  • Pytheas System: Eos
  • Nol System: Voeld
  • Govorkam System: Kadara
  • Zaurbray System: Elaaden

Scan the system while in orbit to find anomalies, then send a probe at any anomalies discovered. If you have a settlement on one of the system’s planets, one of the anomalies is revealed as a ZK Resource Tracker.

The first ZK Resource Tracker you investigate explodes, no matter what system you find it in—including Govorkam, if Morda refused an outpost on Kadara. The satellite ends up as a million pieces of space debris because of a touchy self-destruct mechanism. But Suvi tracks its origin, which leads to the next objective (leaving this objective open until you discover all four ZK Resource Trackers).

Find the Origin of the Signal

You can engage this objective before you’ve discovered all the ZK Resource Trackers. Head to the Nalesh system and scan for anomalies. You find the ZK Resource Tracker signal shuttle in the southwest edge of the system.

Upon closer inspection, a cutscene begins on the bridge of the Tempest. SAM informs you that this is the exact navpoint indicated by the ZK Resource Trackers. You hope this helps you find the missing scientists. Suvi says the shuttle is just a relay, but she can patch into its feed. The voice of Harlan Wells is heard over comms; he realizes he’s been found. You can tell him you’re the Pathfinder, or go the more professional route and tell him he has stolen property.

You hear Dr. Zoe Jean Kennedy telling Harlan to stop talking, and with that, she takes over comms. Dr. Kennedy’s medical profile is then forwarded to the Tempest. She’s eight months pregnant with the first human child to be born in Andromeda. She refuses to go back and hand over her tech. The shuttle relay is suddenly destroyed, breaking communications before Suvi can trace the source.

Contact Addison via Tempest Vidcon

Tempest: Meeting Room

Return to the meeting room (1) and contact Director Addison on Vidcon. She’s surprised by the news of the pregnancy. Pry into Addison’s personal life to learn that Dr. Kennedy talked Addison into joining the Initiative back in college. They’re old buds. The contraceptive law never had an end date, which frustrated the doctor. Now the only way to trace her is to continue settling outposts to find more ZK Resource Trackers.

Locate Dr. Kennedy

Voeld

Once you’ve scanned all the ZK Resource Trackers, Suvi gets a point of origin on Voeld. From the landing zone (3), fast travel to the forward station (4) near Ja Niihk dig site. Get the Nomad and drive up and over or around the hill to the north to reach Dr. Kennedy’s shuttle (5).

Defend Dr. Kennedy’s Shuttle

The camp around the shuttle is occupied by Adhi, Roekaar Sharpshooters, a Saboteur, and a Roekaar Hydra. You also face Anointed and Chosen. As if that’s not enough, a dropship delivers four more Chosen. Take care of all the kett and Roekaar in the camp.

At the end of the battle, you hear Harlan Wells screaming over comms that he’s pulled the dropship away from the site and aborted Dr. Kennedy’s evac. Dr. Kennedy comes on comms next. She and the baby are safe. You tell her to clear out and that you’ll deal with Addison.

Contact Addison via Tempest Vidcon

Tempest: Meeting Room

Return to the Tempest meeting room and call Addison via Vidcon (1). You patch in Dr. Kennedy, and now it’s a conference call. During the conversation between old friends, you can ask about the theft charges and agree about surveillance or talk about self-sufficiency. Conversation options also allow you to send Dr. Kennedy to Eos or the Nexus. The mission completes after Dr. Kennedy graciously thanks you.
