The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind eGuide Training Skills World Skill Lines

Vampire

Maximum Rank: Vampire Rank 10

Maximum Investment: 15 Skill Points

As a cursed affliction, Vampirism carries a mix of benefits and drawbacks—and all the benefits are tied to the Vampire skill line. Whether or not you care to slot Vampire abilities, you’d be well advised to invest in at least a few of the available Passives.

Both of the skill line’s Active Abilities are Magicka-based, and the Ultimate Ability deals Magic Damage. For more potent Vampire abilities, focus on Maximum Magicka, Spell Damage, and Spell Critical.

Ultimate Ability

Bat Swarm

Bat Swarm offers a powerful mix of area-of-effect damage and damage over time, and it’s one of the biggest draws of the Vampire skill line. The available morphs add some extra benefits, but the base skill is straightforward damage ability.

Clouding Swarm

While the bats swarm, you can activate this ability to instantly teleport to an affected enemy, striking them with Magic Damage.

Devouring Swarm

You gain Health for each target hit.

Active Abilities

Drain Essence

Drain Essence is a channeled attack/self-heal that stuns its target for three seconds—the same duration as the channel time. The damage and healing are both nice, but Drain Essence is often used as a crowd-control ability—especially in PvP situations.

Invigorating Drain

You also generate Ultimate during the drain.

Accelerating Drain

You gain Minor Expedition after the drain ends, increasing your movement speed by 10% for 20 seconds.

Mist Form

Mist Form reduces your damage taken by 75% for up to four seconds. It also grants temporary immunity to all Disabling Effects, including roots and snares. Unfortunately, Mist Form’s effect also prevents you from being healed, and it disables your Magicka Recovery. Even so, Mist Form stands as one of the game’s best escape abilities—and one of the better reasons to embrace Vampirism.

Elusive Mist

Also grants Major Expedition, temporarily increasing your movement speed by 30%.

Baleful Mist

Also deals Magic Damage to nearby enemies.

Passive Abilities

The Vampire skill line contains six Passive Abilities. Savage Feeding, Supernatural Recovery, and Undeath each feature two ranks. Blood Ritual, Unnatural Resistance, and Dark Stalker are all single-rank Passives.

Vampire Passive Abilities go a long way toward ensuring that the benefits of Vampirism outweigh the drawbacks. If you choose to accept this affliction, plan to invest in all available Passives.

Vampire Passive Abilities

Name Effect
Savage Feeding After feeding, your target is set off-balance and stunned for up to four seconds.
Supernatural Recovery At Vampirism Stage 2 or higher, your Magicka and Stamina Recovery are increased by up to 10%.
Blood Ritual Allows you to infect another player with Noxiphilic Sanguivoria once every seven days by returning to a Vampire ritual site. Players with Lycanthropy cannot be infected.
Undeath At Vampirism Stage 3 or higher, your damage taken is reduced when your Health drops too low (30% to 50% of Maximum Health). The effect increases based on the amount of missing Health, reducing up to 33% of your damage taken.
Unnatural Resistance Reduces the severity of the Health Recovery detriment in Vampirism Stages 2 through 4.
Dark Stalker Allows you to ignore the movement speed penalty while in Crouch. Decreases the time it takes to crouch by 50% during the night.
