Exclusive to The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind, the Warden is the first new class to be added since the game’s launch.
Wardens are masters of nature-based magic, and class skill lines reflect the deep connection they share with the land. Wardens can enlist the help of animal allies, summon regenerative plants, and conjure icy storms for powerful frost-based effects.
As one of only two classes with a healing-focused skill line, the Warden is an excellent option for a dedicated Healer. Wardens also have access to powerful defensive abilities that allow for some intriguing Tank builds. Of course, damage is always an option, and all Warden skill lines offer valuable utility effects.
Animal Companions
With Animal Companions, a Warden can summon powerful creatures to attack their enemies or provide valuable support. This skill line contains options for direct damage, area-of-effect damage, and damage over time—but it also features some outstanding utility skills.
Betty Netch is a great way to improve sustainability, and Falcon’s Swiftness stands as one of the game’s best mobility buffs. Animal Companions also contains two Stamina morphs, making this a viable skill line for any Warden.
Ultimate Ability
Feral Guardian
|
|
Prerequisite: Animal Companions Rank 12 Cast Time: 2.5 seconds Target: Self |
This ability summons a loyal grizzly to fight at your side. When left to its own devices, the grizzly repeatedly swipes at a nearby enemy, dealing Magic Damage with each hit. However, activating this ability while the grizzly is summoned triggers Guardian’s Wrath—a powerful execute that deals 100% additional Magic Damage to targets under 25% Health. Although there’s no cost associated with summoning the grizzly, activating Guardian’s Wrath has a base cost of 75 Ultimate. |

Active Abilities
Dive

Prerequisite: Animal Companions Rank 1 Cast Time: Instant Target: Enemy Range: 28 meters Cost: 2431 Magicka |
This ability sends a Cliff Racer diving into the targeted enemy. With good range and no cast time, Dive stands as one of the Warden’s best options for single-target damage. Dive is a solid choice for any caster, but melee-focused Wardens should note the available Stamina morph. Cutting Dive can add a bit of ranged damage to Stamina builds that lack Bow abilities. |

Scorch has a moderate area of effect, and the delayed cast does present some interesting tactical options—just make sure you’re facing your intended target(s) by the time the Shalks emerge. |
