Alliance War Merchants
Note that some items, such as siege equipment, in Cyrodiil require Alliance Points to purchase. These are earned by participating in the Alliance War. The typical merchants can be found in Cyrodill, such as General Merchants and Chefs, along with specialty vendors, such as Elite Gear Vendors and Siege Merchants.
Tel Var Stones and Alliance Points are required to purchase many items from vendors inside the Imperial City Sewers. Complete quests and defeat enemies in the Imperial City to earn Tel Var Stones.
Transitus Shrines
Transitus Shrines allow the player to fast-travel in Cyrodiil. Interact with the shrine to travel to keeps or outposts fully controlled by your faction. Note that it must be connected to your current location.
Border Keep
Border keeps are the entry points to the Alliance War, with two per alliance. These locations offer quests and vendors for the players. A Wayshrine at each location allows you to fast-travel out of Cyrodiil. A Transitus Shrine is also available, giving you quicker access to the front lines.
Forward Camp
A forward camp allows teammates to respawn at its location and can be placed anywhere in Cyrodiil, as long as it is flat enough. Players who die near a forward camp have the opportunity to respawn at that site. It can be purchased from a Siege Merchant for 20,000 Alliance Points. Use the item from a quickslot and find a flat, suitable spot; a red X indicates that the site is unsuitable.
You must be Alliance Rank 6 or higher to purchase the item, and it only allows for 20 soldiers to respawn. You may not use the forward camp if you have used it recently. Press the Interact button to dismantle an enemy’s forward camp.
Keep
There are 18 keeps in Cyrodiil, with each alliance controlling six at the start of an Alliance War. Turn the two flags to your alliance to capture the structure. Controlling the surrounding resources is beneficial with keeping the structure repaired. Holding an Elder Scroll on a keep’s scroll pedestal bestows a bonus for every member of that alliance.
Resources
A farm, lumbermill, and mine surround each of the 18 keeps in Cyrodiil. Capture a resource by killing off enough of the opposition so that your side outnumbers them. One flag must be turned to your alliance to gain control. Controlling these resources gives the keep an added benefit for repair.
Resource
| Icon | Resource | Benefit of Capture |
|---|---|---|
|
|
Farm | Increases the strength of NPC soldiers guarding the keep. |
|
|
Lumbermill | Allows players to strengthen the doors of the keep. |
|
|
Mine | Gathers the stone necessary for wall upgrade and repair. |
Temple
A temple sits just inside each border keep. A temple holds an Elder Scroll at the start of an Alliance War, which gives bonuses to every player of the alliance. Each alliance begins with an offensive and defensive scroll.
| Alliance | Temple/Original Elder Scroll | Nearest Border Keep | Type of Scroll |
|---|---|---|---|
| Aldmeri Dominion | Altadoon | Western Elsweyr | Offensive |
| Aldmeri Dominion | Mnem | Eastern Elsweyr | Defensive |
| Daggerfall Covenant | Alma Ruma | Southern High Rock | Defensive |
| Daggerfall Covenant | Ni-Mohk | Northern High Rock | Offensive |
| Ebonheart Pact | Chim | Northern Morrowind | Defensive |
| Ebonheart Pact | Ghartok | Southern Morrowind | Offensive |
Elder Scrolls
Each alliance begins with two Elder Scrolls, one offensive and one defensive. These can be captured and taken to another alliance’s keep or temple, where a bonus is awarded every player of that alliance. Click Bonuses on the Alliance War tab for details of the bonuses given.
Artifact Gate
An Artifact Gate acts as a last line of defense, protecting each temple from outside threats. Two keeps must be captured to open a gate. The gates are given the same name as the temple it protects.
Outpost
Near the center of Cyrodiil, three outposts sit along the Transitus network between a pair of keeps. Use a nearby, friendly keep to travel to the outpost. A pair of flags inside the structure must be turned to apture it.
Town
Bruma, Cropsford, and Vlastarus sit near the perimeter of Cyrodiil, between opposing border keeps. A town can be captured, offering a safe location for players to respawn. Specialized equipment vendors are found within a friendly town.
Battle
Look for the Battle icon on the Cyrodiil map to discover where the action is taking place.
Imperial City Entrance
The Imperial City DLC is required to access the Imperial City entrances. Three gates offer entry points to the Imperial Sewers, from which you are sent to your alliance’s base within the sewers.
