Return to the Archcanon in Vivec City

Return to Barilzar’s, head to the understructure, and defeat the Hunger. Find Barilzar in the next room and ask about a Tonal Inverter. In order to create the device, you must talk to Barilzar’s three hirelings, who are found in Molag Mar. Leona Blassio is next to the Penitent Pilgrim Inn and sends you to the Nchuleft Delve. Volrina Quarra hangs out inside the Penitent Pilgrim Inn on the middle floor and mentions a component inside Galom Daeus. Finally Snorfin is found on the dock, east of the village, and remarks that you should search inside Arkngthunch-Sturdumz.

Gather information from Barilzar’s hirelings.

Travel north to the Nchuleft Delve, near the town of Vos. Explore the interior, enter the Nchuleft Depths, and fight your way through Dwarven mobs, including Scary-difficulty Dwarven Centurions. Note that it is possible to drop to a lower floor, if you pick your jump point carefully. At the second floor from the bottom, take out the Centurion on the north and follow the rock path to find a Dwarven Chest. Find the Manual Clockwork Shaft inside.

Find Galom Daeus directly west of the Nchuleftingth Wayshrine. Explore the ruin until you reach the entrance to Galom Daeus Manufactory. Defeat the Dwarven Centurion before collecting Volrina’s Notes and move inside. Search the Dwarven Spider to find the Galom Daeus Control Rod, and then use it on the Spiders that lie around the room until one activates the Inversion Conduit. Collect the item and exit the ruin.

Use the control rod on the Spiders.

The Arkngthunch-Sturdumz Ruin is located in the northwestern corner of Vvardenfall. Read Snorfin’s Notes (Lorebook) found just inside the entrance before exploring the ruin. Inside the final chamber, take care of the Centurion and then use the three Furnace Release Valves (Western, Eastern, and Northern) to allow access to another Dwarven Chest. Collect the Sonance Generator from inside.

Use the release valves.

Barilzar uses the components to create the Tonal Inverter. After visiting Vivec City, meet Seryn at Kaushtarari, south of Sadrith Mora. Fight through the Skaafins, talk to Renos Oran, and then enter Malacath’s Shrine to find Chodala.

Chodala

Abilities Quick Strike, Cleave, Empowered Strike, Sunder’s Echo

At the start of the fight, Seryn charges the Tonal Inverter, while the player fights off the Skaafin Bloodcleaver, Wretch, and Witchling summoned by Chodala. Once the Tonal Inverter is fully charged, stand in front of Seryn, aim toward Chodala, and activate the Synergy to remove his protective shield.

Take advantage of Chodala’s vulnerability by hitting him with everything you’ve got. Block his Empowered Strike and avoid the Sunder’s Echo attack while taking him down.

After defeating Chodala and collecting Sunna’rah, return to Vivec’s Palace and use the Sunna’rah on Vivec. Witness the scene and talk to Seryn and Vivec to complete the quest.
