The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind eGuide Training Attributes

Active Effects

The game includes a variety of Active Effects that can help or hinder a character’s performance. Obviously, you should strive to maximize the benefits of positive effects while afflicting your enemies with negative effects. Of course, your enemies are sure to have similar goals in mind; knowing how to overcome a negative effect is just as important as knowing how to inflict it.

Immovability

Disabling Effects are commonly referred to as “crowd control” or “CC” tactics. Disabling Effects that prevent a target from taking basic actions are commonly categorized as “hard CC.” These effects include:

  • Stunned
  • Disoriented
  • Knocked Back
  • Knocked Down
  • Pulled
  • Feared

The moment one of these abilities ends, the afflicted target gains six seconds of Immovability, granting them temporary immunity from all hard CC effects.

Immovability can also be gained by performing the Break Free action, or by using abilities or potions that feature the Immovable effect.

Food and Drink Effects

Your character can gain long-lasting effects by consuming food or drink. You’ll find various consumables scattered throughout Tamriel, but they can also be crafted from raw materials, purchased from Merchants, or acquired from the Crown Store.

A basic food bonus increases Maximum Magicka, Maximum Stamina, or Maximum Health; a basic drink bonus increases Magicka Recovery, Stamina Recovery, or Health Recovery.

Higher-quality food and drink items affect multiple Attributes:

  • White (normal) and green (Standard Recipe) items affect one Attribute
  • Blue (Superior Recipe) items affect two Attributes
  • Purple (Complex Recipe) items affect all three Attributes
  • Yellow (Legendary Recipe) items feature special, recipe-specific bonuses

Food and drink effects don’t stack—your character can only benefit from one food effect or one drink effect at any given time.
