The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind eGuide Training Races and Factions Classes

Overview

The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind contains five player classes, and choosing one ranks among your most important decisions during character creation. Every class features three exclusive skill lines, each of which offers its own selection of abilities and morphs.

While it’s fair to say that each class has its own unique strengths, it’s important to note that your choice of class doesn’t limit your character’s potential role. Any character can be used to tank, heal, or deal damage, and every class has access to support abilities that make them valued allies during group content.

The game contains no class-exclusive gear or quests, and the vast majority of skill lines are available to every character. If your class skills don’t support your desired role, you’re sure to find suitable abilities elsewhere.

New players should note that most class abilities are Magicka-based; while dedicated spellcasters have plenty of viable options, Stamina-focused characters often rely on other skill lines for damage, utility, and healing effects. Still, every character in the game is essentially a hybrid. Even the most Stamina-heavy characters have some amount of Magicka, and putting it to good use helps ensure that you get the most out of your character.

If you’re determined to avoid Magicka use, you’re bound to find value in class abilities. Most Ultimate Abilities scale off your highest resource pool, and many Passive Abilities grant bonuses that benefit all playstyles. Most importantly, some class abilities offer Stamina morphs—class-specific options that clearly favor Stamina builds.
