Key Abilities
| Ability | Description |
|---|---|
|
Rapid Regeneration: Morphed from Regeneration (Restoration Staff). Grants a heal-over-time effect to you or up to two nearby allies. |
|
Blessing of Restoration: Morphed from Blessing of Protection (Restoration Staff). Use this ability to heal yourself and allies in front of you. It also grants Minor Resolve and Minor Ward, boosting Physical and Spell Resistance for all affected targets. |
|
Healing Ward: Morphed from Steadfast Ward (Restoration Staff). Grants you or the lowest-Health ally around you a damage shield. The shield also grants a heal when it appears; when it expires, the target is healed based on the shield’s remaining strength. |
|
Sap Essence: Morphed from Drain Power (Nightblade > Siphoning). This Magicka ability serves as an area-of-effect attack and a potential group heal. As long as the attack hits an enemy, you gain Major Brutality and Major Sorcery, increasing your Weapon Damage and Spell Damage for 20 seconds. |
|
Soul Siphon: Morphed from Soul Shred (Nightblade > Siphon). Activate this Ultimate Ability to heal yourself and nearby allies. All affected friendly targets are granted Major Vitality, briefly increasing healing received by 30%. An ally can target an affected enemy to activate the Soul Leech Synergy for additional healing. |
This is your healing Bar. Use it to heal and apply heal-over-time effects. Use the remaining slot to add an ability of your choice.
Bar 2: Destruction Staff (Lightning Staff)
Key Abilities
| Ability | Description |
|---|---|
|
Funnel Health: Morphed from Strife (Nightblade > Siphoning). Use this ability to deal Magic Damage to a target enemy. You and one nearby ally are then healed for 25% of the damage inflicted over the next 10 seconds. |
|
Refreshing Path: Morphed from Path of Darkness (Nightblade > Shadow). Activate this Magicka ability to deal AoE/DOT damage to enemies within the target area. While in the affected area—and for up to two seconds after leaving it—you and your allies receive healing over time. Casting it also grants you Major Expedition, increasing your movement speed by 30%. |
|
Elemental Blockade: Morphed from Wall of Elements (Destruction Staff). This area-of-effect ability is a great source of damage. Keep it active whenever possible. |
|
Impale: Morphed from Assassin’s Blade (Nightblade > Assassination). A great ranged execute. Use it whenever your target’s Health drops below 25%. |
|
Veil of Blades: Morphed from Consuming Darkness (Nightblade > Shadow). This Ultimate Ability snares nearby enemies, deals Magic Damage over time, and grants you and your allies Major Protection, reducing your damage taken by 30% for the duration of the effect. Low-Health allies can also activate the Hidden Refresh Synergy, granting them invisibility, increased speed, and a heal-over-time effect. |
This is your damage Bar. Thanks to the Nightblade’s class skill lines, several of these abilities can also be used to heal. Utilize this Action Bar as much as possible for a nice mix of damage and healing. The remaining Bar slot can be used to hold any ability you find helpful.
Priority Passives
Invest in your core Passives to make the most of these abilities—all of them are useful, and most of them will serve to make you a more effective Healer.
Equipment Recommendations
| Weapons |
|---|
| Priority Trait: Precise |
| Priority Enchantment: Spell Damage |
| You’ll always want a Restoration Staff as your main weapon. Look for any high-quality staff that features a trait like Precise, Powered, or Decisive. Absorb Magicka is usually the best enchantment for healing. |
| For your backup weapon, it’s best to use a Lightning Staff. Look for something that features the Sharpened trait and a Spell Damage enchantment until you obtain a Maelstrom offering or something from a suitable set. |
| Armor |
|---|
| Priority Trait: Divines |
| Priority Enchantment: Maximum Magicka |
| Always wear at least five pieces of light armor. Unless you’ve invested in the Undaunted Mettle Passive Ability, consider equipping light armor in all of your armor slots. |
| Equipment that grants suitable set bonuses is always your best option. Until you find something you like, look for light armor that offers Maximum Magicka enchantments. Divines is usually the best trait for PvE, but Infused can be very effective on head, chest, and leg pieces. |
| Jewelry |
|---|
| Priority Trait: Arcane |
| Priority Enchantment: Reduce Spell Cost |
| Until you manage to track down useful set pieces, use anything that reduces the Magicka cost of your spells. Once you have a handle on Magicka management, look into boosting your Spell Damage. |
