Key Abilities
| Ability | Description |
|---|---|
|
Igneous Shield: Morphed from Obsidian Shield (Dragonknight > Earthen Heart). This Magicka ability creates a damage shield for you and nearby allies. You also gain Major Mending, temporarily increasing your healing done by 25%. |
|
Healing Springs: Morphed from Grant Healing (Restoration Staff). This area-of-effect ability grants an instant heal to you and any allies located within the target area. Remaining in the area grants additional healing for a short time. You also restore Magicka based on the number of friendly targets affected by the initial heal. |
|
Healing Ward: Morphed from Steadfast Ward (Restoration Staff). Grants you or the lowest-Health ally around you a damage shield. The shield also grants a heal when it appears; when it expires, the target is healed based on the shield’s remaining strength. |
|
Quick Siphon: Morphed from Force Siphon (Restoration Staff). Use this ability to apply Minor Lifesteal to an enemy. This debuff allows you and your allies to regain Health by attacking the target. |
|
Light’s Champion: Morphed from Panacea (Restoration Staff). This Ultimate Ability grants you or a nearby ally a brief but powerful heal-over-time effect. Any friendly target you heal gains Major Force and Major Protection, temporarily increasing their Critical Damage and reducing their damage taken. |
This is your healing Bar. Use it to apply damage shields, heal-over-time effects, and the Minor Lifesteal debuff. Use the Bar’s remaining slot to add any ability you feel would be helpful.
Bar 2: Destruction Staff
Key Abilities
| Ability | Description |
|---|---|
|
Force Pulse: Morphed from Force Shock (Destruction Staff). This is your main ability for single-target damage. |
|
Elemental Blockade: Morphed from Wall of Elements (Destruction Staff). This tried-and-true area-of-effect ability is a great way to deal extra damage. |
|
Pulsar: Morphed from Impulse (Destruction Staff). Activate this ability to hit nearby enemies with a burst of Magic Damage. Affected enemies are afflicted with Minor Maim, temporarily reducing their Maximum Health by 10%. |
|
Energy Orb: Morphed from Necrotic Orb (Undaunted). Conjures a floating orb that moves through the area, healing nearby allies. An ally can also activate the Combustion Synergy to recover Health and Magicka. The amount of Magicka an ally gains scales off the number of targets the orb has healed. |
|
Aggressive Horn: Morphed from War Horn (Assault). This Ultimate Ability increases the Maximum Magicka, Health, and Stamina of you and your allies by 10%. Affected targets also gain Major Force, temporarily increasing the damage and healing done by Critical Strikes. |
This is your damage Bar, but it does contain a useful support ability. Dealing damage is an important part of any encounter, so use this Action Bar as often as your healing duties allow.Use this Bar’s remaining slot to include any ability you might find handy in a given situation.
Priority Passives
Until you slot abilities from the Ardent Flame and Draconic Power skill lines, you may not find much use for the Passives they offer. Invest in your core Passives and branch out from there.
Equipment Recommendations
| Weapons |
|---|
| Priority Trait: Precise |
| Priority Enchantment: Spell Damage |
| You’ll always want a Restoration Staff as your main weapon. Given the choice, look for staves that feature traits like Precise, Powered, or Decisive. An Absorb Magicka enchantment is always a good option. |
| For your backup weapon, stick to Lightning or Flame Staves. Look for something that features the Sharpened trait and a Spell Damage enchantment until you obtain a top-tier staff. |
| Armor |
|---|
| Priority Trait: Divines |
| Priority Enchantment: Maximum Magicka |
| Depending on the available gear, a full set of light armor may be your best option. Of course, if you’d rather make use of the Undaunted Mettle Passive Ability, there’s nothing wrong with boosting your resource pools. |
| Equipment that grants suitable set bonuses is always your best option. Until you find something you like, look for light armor that offers Maximum Magicka enchantments. Divines is always a good choice, but Infused can be very effective on head, chest, and leg pieces. |
| Jewelry |
|---|
| Priority Trait: Arcane |
| Priority Enchantment: Reduce Spell Cost |
| Until you manage to track down useful set pieces, use anything that reduces the Magicka cost of your spells. Once you’ve got a handle on Magicka management, look into boosting your Spell Damage. |
