Originally established to repel an invading Reachmen army, the Daggerfall Covenant aims to secure trade routes disrupted by years of war and turmoil—a goal that High King Emeric believes can only be achieved by claiming the Ruby Throne and uniting Tamriel under one banner.
Consisting of three previously warring races, the Covenant began as a somewhat precarious union. However, aligned self-interests and a shared respect for military might have allowed the Bretons, Redguards, and Orcs to work together, making the Daggerfall Covenant a serious contender in the war for the Imperial City.

When the Imperial City fell to Molag Bal’s worshippers, the High Elves called upon their neighbors and frequent allies: the Wood Elves and Khajiit. The Aldmeri Dominon claims no interest in power for power’s sake, but its members are determined to prevent younger and more reckless races from deciding Tamriel’s fate.
With a shared appreciation for intelligence and logic, the races of the Aldmeri Dominion believe it falls on them to restore peace and order to a chaotic and war-torn land.
The Ebonheart Pact

Forged when the Dark Elves, Nords, and Argonians united against Akaviri invaders, the Ebonheart Pact is a fragile alliance between three disparate peoples. These unlikely allies share little in regards to culture and customs, but the value of the Pact consistently outweighs any old hatreds its member races harbor toward each other.
Due to internal politics, the Ebonheart Pact is considered the least stable of Tamriel’s alliances. Still, its military might is undeniable. Together, its member races intend to defend their homelands against all potential threats—even if that means taking control of the Imperial City.
