The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind eGuide Training Skills Weapon Skill Lines

Dual Wield

Maximum Rank: Dual Wield Rank 50

Maximum Investment: 22 Skill Points

The Dual Wield skill line has some good options for one-on-one combat, but it really shines when it comes to area-of-effect damage. If you’re looking for some versatile, high-damage weapon skills, this is a great place to start.

Dual Wield features Stamina abilities. Invest in Maximum Stamina, Stamina Recovery, Weapon Damage, and Weapon Critical if you’re looking to boost your DPS. Thanks to one of the available Passive Abilities, Dual Wield is also an appealing option for DPS casters. If you’re not relying on other skill lines for damage, you’ll likely prioritize other Attributes.

Ultimate Ability

Lacerate

Lacerate is a multi-target damage-over-time ability featuring a nice healing effect. It lacks an instant-damage component, so it won’t do much for burst damage, but it’s a great option for overall DPS and survivability.

Available Morphs
Icon Name New Effect

Rend

Significantly increases the effect’s duration.

Thrive in Chaos

Each enemy hit increases your damage done.

Active Abilities

Flurry

If you’re relying on the Dual Wield skill line, Flurry is a solid choice for a primary damage ability. This channeled attack is a reliable source of single-target damage with a hard-hitting finish.

Flurry’s channeling time makes it very easy to weave heavy attacks into your rotation: just hold down your heavy attack and activate Flurry each time your character draws its arm back. This doesn’t maximize your DPS, but it does generate plenty of Stamina during prolonged battles.

Rapid Strikes

Each hit increases the damage of the subsequent hit.

Bloodthirst

Heals you for 60% of the damage caused.

Twin Slashes

Twin Slashes is a fine option for instant damage, but its damage-over-time effect is what gives this Dual Wield ability real value. It’s relatively inexpensive, and the Bleeding effect lasts long enough to use a few other abilities between applications.

Available Morphs

Rending Slashes

Increases the initial damage and reduces the enemy’s movement speed.

Blood Craze

Also heals you while active.

Whirlwind

Whirlwind is one of the best Stamina-based area-of-effect abilities in any skill line—for many players, it’s the main draw of Dual Wield. It’s a slow starter, but it grows more powerful as your targets lose Health. As long as you have enough Stamina for repeated attacks, Whirlwind is a great way to tear through groups of enemies.

Available Morphs

Whirling Blades

Reduces the cost and grants Major Endurance, increasing your Stamina Recovery.

Steel Tornado

Increases the attack radius.

Blade Cloak

Blade Cloak offers a good mix of area and damage-over-time effects, but it also reduces the damage you take from area-of-effect attacks. When you’re charging into a pack of enemies, you’d be hard-pressed to find a better combination than Blade Cloak and Whirlwind.

Quick Cloak

For a brief period after activation, you gain Major Expedition, increasing your movement speed by 30%.

Deadly Cloak

Increases the damage done.

Hidden Blade

Hidden Blade is a long-range direct-damage attack that buffs you while snaring your target. What’s not to like? It’s a particularly good skill for Stamina builds that use melee weapons with both Action Bars—without a bow, Hidden Blade’s range is a real asset.

Available Morphs

Shrouded Daggers

The dagger bounces up to two times, dealing increased damage with each bounce.

Flying Blade

Increases the damage and the range.

Passive Abilities

The Dual Wield skill line features five Passive Abilities, each of which has two ranks.

None of the available Passives are tied to specific abilities—if you’re relying on Dual Wield abilities for damage, it’s recommended that you invest in each Passive as it becomes available.
