Assembly General
A mechanism of limited intelligence that once served Sotha Sil. Its purpose was to monitor the Halls of Fabrication and ensure production continues. Both time and the current malfunction of the factory have taken their toll on its programming. It must produce and any impediment barring it from fulfilling that purpose must be removed with ruthless precision. |
Abilities
Enkindle (Left Arm): Spews fire out in long column.
Rotary Blade (Right Arm): The blade doesn’t hit as far out or as hard, but it does apply a bleed.
Quake (Body): If a tank is not in range of the Assembly General’s attacks, it jumps in the air—knocking down and damaging everyone in the area. If allowed to do this too much in a short duration everyone dies.
Stomp (Body): A blockable stomp attack that causes knockback and area damage.
Bombard (Body): Explosives are launched from its back affecting an area that is centered at a random player’s feet (not the tank).
Disassembly Command (Body): Stomps with his right foot and sends out sparks to the middle of the room, where areas of clockwork arms attempt to attack and pull players to their knees.
Abilities After Phase 1.1, Strategic Update
Titanic Smash: After Phase 1.1, the colossus winds up and hits the tank, launching the player far away. This player is given a debuff, which causes the tank to take more damage from the boss’s Stomp. If the tank is standing against a wall, the force of the impact outright kills the player.
Tactical Assessment: After Phase 1.1, a player, other than the tank, is “scanned.” A factotum is created with one ability based on the weapon and class of the player scanned.
Environmental Hazards
Blade Traps: Spinning blades hit any players caught in their paths.
Power Sinks: Electrified orbs on either side of the boss damage and drain magicka from any player they contact. These are easily avoided; just remain alert.
Toxic coolant: A green coolant vents into a defined area. Those standing in the area choke on the poison.
Desired Roles
Keeping a tank on the boss’s body in the trench, while also giving both arms a target, is vital to success.
Main Tank: Fights in the trenches, keeping the boss taunted and staying within range so he doesn’t Quake.
Off Tank: If main tank is hit by uppercut, takes over that role and picks up adds.
DPS Kiter or Second Off Tank: Remain on platforms to keep the tank from getting hit by extra damage.
Strategy
The final boss fight follows a narrative as the group reduces its health to the following health levels:
100% Health (Phase 0): The group aggros the Assembly General and gas fills the space behind the boss. It begins with both arms intact and all of its regular abilities available. A tank should stick to the body and the remaining players need to split up on the platforms. Each arm targets players on the nearby platforms first, but if no players are available, they target the trench.
90% Health: The right (blade) arm explodes and falls off sending sparks to the right platform stunning and damaging any in the area.
87% Health: The left (cannon) arm explodes and falls off sending sparks to the right platform stunning and damaging any in the area.
85% Health (Phase 1.1, Strategic Update): The boss walks toward the center and the gas disappears. Once it arrives at the center spot, the colossus regenerates its arms and drops to a knee. At this point the blade traps spawn in and four terminals, located at the end of each trench, become active and attackable. This is signified by electricity shooting into the colossus. During this time all damage done to the boss is reflected back in the form of electric shock.
Players must concentrate damage on the terminals and shut them down. For each terminal that isn’t shut down in 60 seconds the boss reactivates with lightning arcs striking each player for damage relative to the number of terminals still active. After this is complete, the colossus walks to the south, as poison gas is pumped in between the southern location and southern wall.
In addition to its basic attacks the boss now has access to Titanic Smash, & Tactical Assessment. When its uppercut is ready, the colossus winds up and knocks the main tank through the air and out of range—dropping threat on him. At this point, the off tank needs to pick up the body, as the main tank takes over on the blade arm. Then, the colossus performs Tactical Assessment and creates a factotum based on the scanned player.
70% Health: The right (blade) arm explodes and falls off.
67% Health: The left (cannon) arm explodes and falls off.
65% Health (Phase 1.1, Strategic Update): The boss walks to the center and again regenerates both arms before dropping to a knee. After taking care of the terminals, gas begins to fill the area between the eastern wall and eastern tanking location as the colossus walks to that location.
50% Health: The right (blade) arm explodes and falls off.
47% Health: The left (cannon) arm explodes and falls off.
45% Health (Phase 1.1, Strategic Update): Once again, the boss walks to the center, regenerates arms, and drops to a knee. Destroy the terminals and gas fills the area between the western wall and western tanking location as the colossus walks to that location.
30% Health: The right (blade) arm explodes and falls off.
27% Health: The left (cannon) arm explodes and falls off.
25% Health (Phase 2.0, Final Burn): The colossus’s Bombard ability now launches heat-seeking projectiles that hit the two targets furthest from the boss. As time goes by, more projectiles are fired—4, 6, 8, 10, maxing out at 12. Each one hits a different player, but if there are not 12 targets, a player will get hit multiple times.
Simultaneously, poison is vented in at the end of each trench, blocking certain areas off. Eventually, players have nowhere to fight, but the very center. If the group takes too long in this phase, the boss vents steam that causes players to take more damage from the projectiles and Toxic Coolant.
With the General Assembly defeated, loot the boss and talk to Divayth Fyr to complete the quest. A couple chests and heavy sacks are available too, before entering the portal back to Tel Fyr.
