Weapon Types: Two-Handed, Bow
Armor Focus: Medium
Mundus Stone: Serpent
Bar 1: Two-Handed
Key Abilities
| Ability | Description |
|---|---|
|
Rally: Morphed from Momentum (Two-Handed). This ability grants Major Brutality and restores a nice bit of Health. Use it to buff Weapon Damage and improve survivability. |
|
Critical Rush: Morphed from Critical Charge (Two-Handed). This is your gap closer. Use it to get into melee range. |
|
Biting Jabs: Morphed from Puncturing Strikes (Templar > Aedric Spear). This is your primary damage ability. It’s a multi-target attack, but the closest enemy takes increased damage and suffers a brief snare. |
|
Reverse Slice: Morphed from Reverse Slash (Two-Handed). This is your execute ability. Use it when a target’s Health drops below 50%. Nearby enemies take 65% of the damage inflicted, making this another good multi-target attack. |
|
Flawless Dawnbreaker: Morphed from Dawnbreaker (Fighters Guild). Slot this Ultimate Ability to increase your Weapon Damage by 5%. Use it to deal heavy AoE/DOT Physical Damage to enemies in front of you. |
This is your main attack Bar. Use it when you’re within melee range of a target. During basic adventuring, consider using the remaining slot for Repentance, which is morphed from Restoring Aura (Templar > Restoring Light). Slotting it grants Minor Fortitude, Minor Endurance, and Minor Intellect; using it consumes nearby corpses to restore Health and Stamina. Otherwise, choose any ability you feel might be of use.
Bar 2: Bow
Key Abilities
| Ability | Description |
|---|---|
|
Power of the Light: Morphed from Backlash (Templar > Dawn’s Wrath). This attack deals Physical Damage and applies Minor Fracture and Minor Breach to the target. It also copies their damage taken for six seconds, applying up to 20% of it as additional Physical Damage when the effect ends. It’s most useful during group content, but it can sometimes be handy during solo adventuring. |
|
Poison Injection: Morphed from Poison Arrow (Bow). This is your primary damage-over-time attack. It deals bonus Poison Damage to enemies below 50% Health, but it should be used whenever DPS is important. |
|
Endless Hail: Morphed from Volley (Bow). This is your ranged area-of-effect skill. Use it accordingly. |
|
Binding Javelin: Morphed from Piercing Javelin (Templar > Aedric Spear). This is a long-range attack that stuns and knocks back your target. Use it mainly for crowd control, but don’t shy away from working it into any ranged-attack rotation. |
|
Solar Disturbance: Morphed from Nova (Templar > Dawn’s Wrath). This ranged Ultimate Ability deals AoE/DOT damage and reduces the damage done by affected enemies. It also snares enemies and allows an ally to use the Supernova Synergy. |
This is your ranged-attack Bar. Use it when you need to keep your distance, and when you want to apply the debuffs granted by Power of the Light.
If you opt to slot Repentance on your first Action Bar, consider doing the same thing here. Otherwise, use the remaining slot to add any ability you enjoy.
Priority Passives
Unless you add one of its abilities to an Action Bar, Restoring Light is your lowest-priority Templar skill line. It has a lot to offer, but it won’t benefit you as much as your other core skill lines. Invest accordingly.
Equipment Recommendations
| Weapons |
|---|
| Priority Trait: Sharpened |
| Priority Enchantment: Weapon Damage |
| Your best weapon options come from the Maelstrom Arena or high-level sets. Until you’re able to find or craft such items, use the highest-quality weapons you can find. |
| Once you’ve invested in the Dual Wield Passives, each weapon type provides a different bonus. Consider using daggers for a boost in Weapon Critical, but try out any decent weapon you can get your hands on. |
| Sharpened is the trait that most Damage-Dealers prefer, but Precise is also quite good. As for enchantments, favor Weapon Damage for your main hand. A Crushing enchantment would be a good choice for your off-hand weapon. |
| The combination of Sharpened and Weapon Damage also works well for your bow. |
| Armor |
|---|
| Priority Trait: Divines |
| Priority Enchantment: Maximum Stamina |
| To maximize your damage, equip at least five pieces of medium armor. If you’ve invested in the Undaunted Mettle Passive Ability, it’s probably best to equip light and heavy armor pieces in the remaining slots. |
| Until you can find or craft a useful armor set, look for medium armor that offers Maximum Stamina enchantments. Divines is considered the best trait for PvP content, but Infused can be very effective on head, chest, and leg pieces. |
| Jewelry |
|---|
| Priority Trait: Robust |
| Priority Enchantment: Weapon Damage |
| Until you manage to track down useful set pieces, use anything that increases Weapon Damage. |
