Five currencies are used in Elder Scrolls Online: gold, crowns, Alliance Points, Tel Var Stones, and Writ Vouchers. Gold is the primary money exchanged in PvE when buying and selling equipment, materials, and more.
Crowns must be purchased from the Elder Scrolls Online Store and other online retailers. Purchase exclusive content from the Crown Store. Alliance Points are exclusive to Cyrodiil and the Battleground, while Tel Var Stones are earned and spent in the Imperial City.
Writ Vouchers are a relatively new currency, received as a rare reward for completing Master Crafting Writs. Spend the vouchers at the Mastercraft Mediator.
Currency does not take up any room in your inventory and can be viewed at the Inventory screen by selecting the Coin icon. Gold and Tel Var Stones can be deposited in a bank.
