Due west of Mzanchend, close to a massive lava flow, is the entrance to an egg mine. This links to the Dwemer ruin, so the following interior investigation applies to both this and the next location. It’s worth having the quest active so you can fully explore these interiors. Before you enter, check the Serano Ancestral Tomb rubbing just south of here.
Interior 1 (Zalkin-Sul Egg Mine): After you maneuver through some guards, this Kwama egg mine (and further guards) can be encountered. Halfway along this winding cavern tunnel, there’s a door to a Mysterious Chamber, accessible during the quest.
Interior 1 (Mysterious Chamber): A strange Dwemer prism and mechanical contraption are rotating here. North is access to Mzanchend, while the cavern tunnel continues to the east mine.
Interior 1 (East Mine): The eastern (actually southeastern) part of the mine features a large cavern with Kwama nests, fleeing slaves, and an exit out into Vvardenfell, just north of the Nchuleftingth Wayshrine. Use this during your escape.
Interior 2 (Mzanchend): Only accessible during the quest, this giant workshop for creating Centurions features an easily navigable corridor to various large chambers, with Automatons along the way. Grab the mechanical parts as you go.
Interior 3 (Magister Otheri’s Laboratory): This large chamber is dominated by a powerful Dwemer Centurion that activates when you encroach. The last of the quest items are here, along with an exit to the east, which brings you back to the southeast area of the Mzanchend interior.
