Perhaps the most inhospitable of all the navigable regions of Vvardenfell, Molag Amur is either traversed through as quickly as possible, or languished in as part of a pilgrimage to the main topographical area of height and note, Mount Kand. However, farther north and closer to the ash storms and constant creeping death of the pyroclastic flows from Red Mountain, fewer adventurers dare tread, for this is an area of permanent bleakness and choking air. Daedra are active, there are numerous ruins to avoid (or explore!), and the only respite comes when visiting the decidedly more civilized Lake Nabia, and the southeastern town of Molag Mar.
